23/1/12 is the first day for Harry in Southwark Crown Court . He is charged with tax evasion .
Tax evasion is the general term for efforts by individuals, corporations, trusts and other entities to evadetaxes by illegal means. Tax evasion usually entails taxpayers deliberately misrepresenting or concealing the true state of their affairs to the tax authorities to reduce their tax liability, and includes, in particular, dishonest tax reporting (such as declaring less income, profits or gains than actually earned; or overstating deductions). Tax evasion is an activity commonly associated with the underground economyand one measure of the extent of tax evasion the amount of unreported income, namely the difference between the amount of income that should legally be reported to the tax authorities and the actual amount reported. In the 1970's and 80's, The IRS undertook the Taxpayer Compliance Measurement Program (TCMP) in an attempt to measure unreported income and the tax gap. The tax gap is the difference between the amount of tax legally owed and the amount actually collected by the government.
Both defendants vigorously deny any wrongdoing .
Harry may well not attend everyday , I don't know .
He can stop the case even tomorrow morning by paying what they want .
This could be a life changing week for him .

Latest update is Harry is there already and has to be there for 2 weeks at least it is reckoned .
The figures being banded about are about £185,000 - £195,000 in payments which would yield about 40%-50% depending on when the date was . PLUS 8% per annum interest , which is normal for outstanding payments garnered through the UK court system .
An off the cuff figure would be somewhat less than £150K which HMRC are claiming .
I am utterly amazed that this could not have been negotiated in a non-court setting , but lawyers being lawyers ????

Which begs the obvious question of whether he is supremely confident or supremely stupid.
The courts ultimately will decide which.

Joe , Kevin and Clive are taking training , and Harry will be at Watford on Friday evening .
Good to know that, how seriously they treat the cup this year remains to be seen. Should have enough in reserve on friday regardless to do the job
Let's just hope everything goes well for Harry over the due course of the court case. We will be fine without him in training for a short time, but he is crucial to us in the dugout and changing room.

As much as I criticize Arry I do not want him jailed or leave as manager at the moment, after looking at the evidence we know of it really does not look good on him. This may be that the suits want him to fight in order for them to cash out as much as possible or there could be something that we don't know or has not been released that proves Arry isn't guilty. I don't know either way I just hope this can be taken care of and Arry can worry only about managing Spurs.

I don't have 100% background info on the case obviously but from what I understand they have evidence that Mandaric paid 'Arry x-hundred thousands over x amount of time into an offshore bank account.
What the hell can 'Arry say to counter that?
Sorry your honour, it's all a big mix-up, last summer I painted Mandaric's fence & he paid me into my offshore account???
Why don't he just pay up and make it go away?
