It's complicated. The Dodgers are bankrupt because of one man. It's not the same situation as Premiership clubs spending above their means. Once again it's complicated but all of this is good news for fans because it will put control of the team in MLB hands so they can force a sale. The bankruptcy was by design, the commissioner knew what would happen when he denied McCourts TV contract. One more thing that broke bastard should have never been allowed to by the Dodgers. This is all Selig's fault and now finally he's cleaning up the mess he had a key role in creating. When the Dodgers went up for sale he intentionally accepted the low bid because they were the "McCourt Family". He has this obsession with fostering a "family" dare I say "conservative" atmosphere to ownership rather then accepting the best bid. He should have let Cuban by the Dodgers but he was afraid they would turn into a West Coast version of the Yankees. By that meaning spending massive amounts on players every off-season. Also some of the old boys club that is MLB ownership didn't want him in their number. Personally, I don't give a damn who the owner is as long as he A) Loves the team and B) Runs it properly, all that other stuff is extra. The Dodgers are one of the most historically significant teams in America. Bud Selig should be ashamed of his part in their current situation.
