TOTTENHAM’S SON’S GOAL WINS THE FIFA PUSKAS AWARD

Tottenham Hotspur’s star Son Heung-Min has been crowned the FIFA Puskas Award winner after his solo strike against Burnley in the Premier League was voted as the best goal of last season.

The goal surely deserves the crown as it was a well-thought-out and stylishly executed one. Son traveled with the ball from his side’s half right to the Burnley half, beating several opposition players, and found his way to the Burnley box where he executed the shot.

The award caps a great week for Son who was earlier named the Korean Football Association’s Player of the Year. He has now set a record for being the first and currently the only player to receive the KFA Player of the Year gong five times.

It seems as though Son is finally getting all the credit, he truly deserves having already been a star performer for Tottenham in recent months with beautiful solo displays and magnificent team-work abilities.

Although the South Korean has not yet won any trophy with Spurs, he is currently in a season where that jinx could be broken. He is now under the tutelage of serial winner manager José Mourinho, plus they are also still in the Premier League title race and are currently doing well in the Europa League after dealing their passage to the knockout round of the competition.

Son’s contract at Spurs is due in 2023 but neither he nor the club wants to wait for that time as they are now locked in negotiations for a contract extension. He is currently in the form of his life and enjoying life at Spurs under Mourinho.

Spurs striker Harry Kane is also having a great season after crating a formidable partnership with Son this season, and both of them are on course to take Tottenham places this season.
