According to reports from the Daily Independent, Manchester United are strongly interested in bringing back Kieran Trippier to the English Premier League this summer. It is also believed that the former Tottenham Hotspur man is keen to seal the move as he sees it as a dream transfer, but he would have to wait until United and Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid can agree on a transfer fee before a move can be completed.
It is said that the 30-year-old is keen to return to England and wants to play for Manchester United but while Atletico Madrid will also fancy the idea of making some cash off him, they don’t want him to leave on a cheap. The Red Devils recently submitted an opening bid for the England international defender said to be in the region of £15 million, but Atlético rejected the offer immediately it was submitted, labeling the offer a ‘ridiculous’ one.
United are said to be ready to send a fresh bid to the Spanish giants in the coming days but Atletico have made it clear that they do not want to sell their prized asset for anything less than £35 million. The Old Trafford club may be unwilling to meet that figure as they deem it too high for a player of that age.
However, if they can submit a new offer close to that amount, they could convince last year’s La Liga winners to sell the right-back.
