English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur may have handled most of their summer business behind the scenes, but they are reportedly expected to have a solid campaign this season.

Spurs had a rather unwanted season last campaign under their former manager José Mourinho and the terrible performances they had on the pitch, coupled with the fact that they were not able to record positive results, led to club owner Daniel Levy being fed up with the Portuguese manager and he eventually decided to part ways with the former Chelsea boss right even before the season came to an end.

Atalanta goalkeeper PierluigiGollini and his former teammate, Cristian Romero have both been signed by Spurs this summer but while central defender Romero is joining the London club on a permanent deal, goalkeeper Gollini is joining on a season-long loan from the Italian Serie A outfit. The goalkeeper is expected to have himself a great season in the English Premier League in order to earn himself a long-term contract at the club and that may not be a problem for him.

Romero and Gollini were both brilliant last season for Atalanta and even though they conceded a number of goals because they’re a free-playing side, the two stars still managed to shine and combine for some top defensive duties for the club.

The Premier League is set to return this weekend as the new season is expected to start in grand style and in their season opener, Spurs will face a Manchester City side that has welcomed the arrival of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. Whether Gollini and Romero start to get tomorrow is still uncertain, but they have both been tipped to make a huge claim for the starting shirt this season.
