really sad for a great ambassador not only for english football, but for the nation as a whole, he is a nice guy and doesn't deserve the sh1t he gets in the press week in week out

hate to say it but his career may be over, at 34 he won't heal as well as footballers in their peak will, he won't be playing at the highest level again, maybe non league or something, he will now probably invest in a US club and become chairman of it

want him to go with england to the WC, as an advisor and maybe a mentor to some players, plus his publicity will distract the press from the team and a portion of the pressure will be off them

i'd also maybe want him to do a bit of punditry for bbc/itv as his views will be welcomed
