Thousands of relationships end badly everyday, most involving people known to the original couples, yet thousands of people suck it up and get on with their lives. There are millions of football fans looking to see England do as well as possible in the World Cup, what right does Bridge have to reduce the chance of this happening by refusing to play? If Shearer had played in Japan, and remember he 'quit' on his Country because he claimed he only had a season or two left when he actually played another six years in the PL, England might have won it, they certainly would have had better attacking options. If Bridge quits and Cashley is injured we could be vulnerable at left back.

Swaany you can 'groan' but life is not a fairy tale, bad things do happen. Wayne Bridge is a highly paid professional footballer he should have risen above his personal issues and got on with his job. He was given the ultimate honor of playing for his Country he should not disrespect that and the millions of England fans over something trivial like an ex's indiscretions.

Take your point but life goes on, does this mean Bridge won't play with anyone who is 'friends' with JT? What about hid ex's other alleged partners and their friends? When City play Chelsea will Bridge take the day off? Professional football is a pretty small world he can't avoid everyone for ever.

Don't get me wrong it's a terrible situation created by JT being a complete cnut, but it is what it is and life goes on. The best way for Bridge to get over this is to play the game he's good at, a World Cup medal would be more than enough to get me over a slut ex girlfriend and a tosser of an ex mate.

At the moment it's JT whose been the cnut, alright he's lost the England captaincy but apart from 15 mins of more fame, his life will role on much as before.
