wow four threads, that got to be some kind of record >?!!
Time to spend that 50GBP million windfall we're about to have! Might as well pick up a great young player.
if you could compare this kid to anyone who would it be?
dzeko ?
anelka?
bedtner?
think that it would be money weel spent unless he gets frozen out for years and never gets a proper chance
No chance for £5m, maybe £1m with loads of add ons but 5m would be a real waste. What are the chances of Naughton/Walker/Bostock making it here. They were all expected massive things from, and don't look like getting much time here at all. That's nearly £10m spent... unless the kids are going to get some cup time then they are going to struggle
Interesting article about Wickham, who is with the England U17's in the European U17 Championship Finals in Lichenstein.

I hear from Ipswich fans that they are interested in taking Andros Townsend possibly on loan.
Plus a piece claiming ex Ipswich legend Russell Osman, of Escape To Victory fame, suggesting £5 million would only get Connor's right boot!!

Arsenal are ready to take on bitter rivals Tottenham in a bidding war for rising Ipswich star Connor Wickham.
Centre of a tug-of-war: Connor Wickham is wanted by Arsenal and Spurs
Spurs, who have already had a £5million offer rejected, have upped their bid to £8m and are willing to loan the prodigious 17-year-old back to the Tractor Boys next season.
But Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger is also a big fan of Wickham, whose goals saw England crowned European Under 17 champions in May.
Wickham netted both goals in the semi-final win over France and then the winner against Spain in the final, following up his three goals in four games for Ipswich the previous month.
Wenger is desperate to add firepower to his attack and does not want to lose out on Wickham, especially to Spurs.
Hard-up Ipswich, whose latest accounts will reveal a debt close to £50m, are under pressure to sell.
They have not made any signings this summer and boss Roy Keane has transfer-listed eight senior stars in an attempt to raise much-needed funds.
But he knows that only by cashing in on Wickham will he be able to target the reinforcements required to turn the Tractor Boys into promotion challengers
