Harry apparently had dinner with RvN's agent last night to discuss the prospect of taking the Dutchman to WHL on loan until the summer. We might even have him in time to face Liverpool on Wednesday!!!:

Van Nistelrooy lined up to join Spurs on loan

I haveto admit, whether you think he is knackered or not, I don't think there is a better finisher inside the box in the world. I tell you, we would not have drawn to Hull if any of those chances had fallen to RvN & he very possibly could bag us another 10+ goals before the end of the season.

We also know that Harry has a knack of getting an extra yard out of those past their sell-by dates &, tbh, RvN has never actually stopped banging them in!

      I'm actually quite excited!

There is also a bit at the bottom about us still being interested in Victor Moses, despite City still being favourites. Last I heard, Palace already have 4 offers on the table in the region of £5m each. I'm not sure if we are among them yet tho. Maybe young John Bostock can have a word in Victor's lughole

Its been old news for all of 10 minutes, Kev, as I just posted that link in the post above, mate

      Still, I'm all for RvN.

All these people saying he is too slow & over the hill obviously haven't watched him recently. He's the same old Ruud, tbh, absolutely lethal. So long as we can manufacture opportunities for the guy, he'll get us goals. With our midfield that should not be a problem - he would've had a hat-trick against Hull.

This is all recent footage. Over the hill? I don't think so. And get this, he has played once in La Liga for Real since coming back from injury, off the sub's bench - 1 appearance, 1 goal. Last season, aged 32, he played just 11 games for Real but he scored in every one of them except 3 - the guy is a machine:

I'm telling you, this is a potential Klinsmann all over again!

bassk I didn't want to go public with this because my source is closer than most would think , but i knew for a fact that everything was in RVN's boat because of his past injuries or problems with his knees it just kept stallin . That and the fact he was being greedy i just thought that he had priced himself not only out of spurs but out of the EPL .

Of all the people i know on here i still cant chance upsetting my source , not only will it dry up but it will alienate me from others too .

I will add one snippet for you , i'll send it pm

He's supposed to be coming on loan now anyway, if that article is to be believed. However, don't read too much into this "dodgy knees" stuff. Sure its an old injury and he's been out a while, but it was only since halfway thru last season & a little bit in 2007/8. He still managed 19 games last year & 32 in 2007/8. Before that he played an incredible 51 games in the 2006/7 season - he doesn't look "injury prone" to me, he's just had a bad injury recently & he's back from it now.

Get this tho, since coming back from his injury he has played just 12 minutes for Real in La Liga - he set up 1 goal & scored another!!!

I ain't disagreeing with you Kev, it's what I've heard also about his "dodgy knees", it's just my interpretation is that it is blown out of proportion. He is still coming back, bit by bit, but he looked to have no problems against AC Milan in the 10 minutes he was on the field &, as I said before, he was as ruthless as ever in the other 12 minutes of football he's played for Real this season.

If they had not just spent silly money on lots of attackers then Ruud will have played much more, his bad knees is just an excuse

I'm telling you, mate, this will be like Klinsmann part 2

      . . . I meant part 3 (sorry)

Well I'm just praying its in black and white before Citeh or the scum get any funny ideas of trying to spoil our party . RVN will be a shock to a lot of our boys too if you ask me , i can see it waking a few sleeping giants among our squad just itching to get in the first team with him . Just to say they played alongside him , and they will feed off of his confidence .

Fook me this is moving a lil too quickly aint it?

Ruud van Nistelrooy in talks with Tottenham over free transfer

Tottenham Hotspur were last night in talks to sign Ruud Van Nistelrooy from Real Madrid on a free transfer. It is expected that a deal for the 33-year-old Dutch striker will be announced today.

Van Nistelrooy is thought to have flown to London to discuss terms and undergo a medical which will hasten Tottenham Hotspur’s effort to move on Roman Pavlyuchenko in this transfer window.
However, Spurs will only countenance a straight sale for the Russian international, who has been told he can leave, and have rejected a bid by Zenit St Petersburg to take the 28-year-old on loan for six months.

Van Nistelrooy has been linked to a move back to the Premier League - having left Manchester United in 2006 - for some time and has sparked interest from Liverpool and Stoke City.
However, it is Spurs who have made the move and appear set to sign the player whose contract at the Bernabeu expires at the end of this season and who has barely featured this season.
He wants first-team football in order to make a bid to be in Holland’s World Cup squad and recently turned down an offer to join Galatasaray.
Even though it is a free transfer, Spurs manager Harry Redknapp knows he will now have to move players on to help free up his wage bill especially as he is also keen to sign an experienced right-back.
It’s understood that Spurs watched Bordeaux defender Mathieu Chalme during his club’s 1-1 draw with Marseilles on Sunday.
Chalme, 29, is understood to be interested in playing in England although he may want to remain in France until the summer with his club still involved in the Champions League.
However, Spurs are hopeful, although they will have to also try to sell Alan Hutton, who has struggled since his move from Rangers two years ago and is available for around £4 million.

COME ON HARRY, PLEASE TO GOD PULL THIS ONE OFF!!!!!!!!!!

How can it be a free when he has 6 moon left on his current deal at Real.

Unless they are terminating his contract by mutual consent and we will be paying him a bumper few million signing on fee or just giving him a deal for a year or so?

Or even pay per play deal?

I dont think it would be that as many clubs would have offered him a year or twos contract.

I cant see it being on a free when Madrid could have made a couple of mill out of the deal.

I too hope this happens sharpish, as he would notch against the Dippers and after the effort they put into trying to sign him it would be such a good feeling.

I would definately consider his name on the back of my Spurs shirt.

I dont usually do name but this is more than an exception.
