It contradicts itself though. Rather than keeping Button on the bench until Gomes is fit, we've brought in someone else, who as you said, will probably never play a game for us. But he's adding to the wage bill...
Now unless Gomes is going to be out for much longer than we expected I can't see the point in this signing.

this keeper played a massive part in west ham getting promoted from the championship he very and as stated he wont kick up a fuss iv always rated him. bt harsh he got replaced by rob green imo

hopefully hes only here monthly cause why would we need him when gomes is back

i can see why harry signed him but hopefully he'll be gone when gomes comes back
