James is what, approaching 40? Pretty bloody ordinary keeper too in my opinion.

He's free so that's a bonus but we still have to pay him a wage. Maybe Cudicini is struggling to get his wrists right. It's the only excuse for this that I can come up with.

Can pompey really afford James-level wages?

He'd have to take a cut to come here imo, if he is on what i presume him to be (i'm guessing 40k or above?)

I'd prefer a younger chap like Alex Smithies, but for free James would be great back up for a couple of seasons

Lads he is ENgland number 1 ffs, he is more than good enough to deputise for Gomes.

Sitting on our bench would be a better keeper than a lot of teams first choice keeper.

FOR FREE!!! Give him £40,000 a week. Just over 2 million a year.
