I would never claim to be an expert but after reading a bit more into it this sounds like it is more a genetic defect as opposed to a problem brought about by diet.
As someone who suffers from heart disease myself and who has had 2 heart attacks at a similiar age I feel for the lad. Previously most doctors would suggest a mediterranean diet after any heart problems. This is, however, not really beneficial. The thinking behind this solution was simply that, statistically, there are radically lower numbers of heart problems in these areas. If you actually look into the diet you will find it still has large amounts of fat via all the oils and yoghurts etc although a lower intake of red meats is obviously beneficial.
As far as the statistics go, genetics plays a part as well as the fact that in these countries there is by large a much healthier lifestyle than of those in places like America or England
Just read he has been ruled out for this whole coming season as specialists would like to perform tests on him approx every 2 months to monitor his condition. A wise move. I really hope he can return. Despite having heart problems it is plausible to return to activities with high pysical demands. I'm sure that Kanu was diagnosed with a serious heart condition at Inter before coming to England and having a very good, long lasting career?
Martin Jol On building his Spurs legacy: 'This is one of the biggest clubs in Europe and I want to be part of its history,'
Yes, De la Red case is a shame. We were lacking from talent from the youth team when he showed up, had a great season with Getafe, was bought back ( hehe ) and then it was over. It's a genetic problem.
Madrid bought Alonso because we were lacking of creativity in the midfield and there was pressure for "Spanishing" the team. Gago is not a creative player -right now more popular than Diarra, injured all last season-, he has no long pass and he's too light; and Guti is crap.
In Boca he played very well... but Boca always sell players at gold-prices and that's affecting the perception of fans respect to Gago. Madrid payed 20 million euros!!. Detractors always show that up, it's obvious. IMO, you can't pay that money for a player from an argentina club since you can't tell if he will fit in European football. Palermo, Schelloto, Battaglia, Cavenaghi, Aimar, Saviola, Angel,...
