I think that is a massive misinterpretation on your part actually & you are underestimating your fellow Spurs fans a little by making it.
Just because Manchester United/Barcelona don't want him why should that mean he's no good? In fact, how do you know they don't want him?
Sandro would be a big risk anyway & I don't think anyone on this site has yet said 'ooo, he's exotic so he must be great!'. If we bought a player like Sandro it would be because we see potential in him, & he does have potential.
However, he has barely played 15 games in just a single season for Internacional, so to say he would be ready for the Prem would be ridiculous.
To be honest, I don't believe that we have done anything more than perhaps scouted him &, being Brazil's new U20 captain (having taken over from Denilson of Arsenal) we'd be silly not to have. We might have seen something in him but, if we have, we will only bid if we genuinely think he is right for Spurs
A player like Sissoko would be much less of a risk obviously considering he played virtually the whole of last season in a European (albeit the rather weaker Ligue 1) Division. I personally feel that Sissoko could come straight in & do a job in the Premiership, despite being just 19 himself. He has played more regularly at a higher level, which is key as anyone can have a great game here and there, & he was consistent over a whole season.
You say FACT but I don't know where you get your FACTS from in that case, that 95% slip beneath the radar just isn't true (maybe if plucked from obscurity at 14/15 but not once they've already started to make a name for themselves for an established club or for their country's youth sides aged 18+). I don't deny that big clubs buy these players up but so do other clubs. Birmingham just bought Benitez ffs!
Buying young players is always a gamble, whether they're foreign has nothing to do with it. If they "don't make it" doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't/weren't good players either/just that it didn't work out for them for whatever reason. It is more to do with the effort put into their development, how easily they settle down & whether they are at the 'right' club.
You might just find you bag yourself a superstar tho. I guarantee that, if we did go for Sandro, we would not be paying anything like €10m & certainly wouldn't leave 70% of him with Internacional, especially considering his market value is generally considered less than €1.5m!! He would come on young player's wages also, if he did come, so would not drain our resources.
You cannot just make sweeping comments & dismiss everyone just because we are talking about a foreign player

Yeah i agree = if we buy foreign at least we have the goolie chit '
as said, sissoko would be a better buy
Aint this about that player that Arry was saying could have finished that header Bent missed???
Are you lot serious? After all the players who have failed at Tottenham, you are not pleased about this player?
I'm a Canadian football follower, who follows both leagues that we get access to: the Prem, and the Brasileirao. I also get to watch most of the U20 action from the Americas. I was pleased to see the rumour of Sandro to Tottenham, thinking to myself that finally Harry Redknapp might actually be looking at a decent player.
Now, I look at this board and see that some of you havn't done your homework. Let me tell you a bit about this player.
Hope this sheds some light on what kind of player you'd be getting. I also hope you won't be so quick to dismiss every player you havn't heard of.
- He got into a few games last year late in the Brasileiro. He then played games for the junior side. These performances led to Internacional feeling comfortable selling long-time starting DM Edinho to Italy.
- He then became a starter, captain, and probably best player for Brazil at the South American U20 championships. He definatly outshun Man U target Douglas Costa, and only Inter teammate Walter impressed me as much as Sandro.
- Then, the Brazil regional leagues. From January to May, there are league within each region, where teams get to test out their players before the season. He started 14 of the 15 for Inter in these leagues. For future reference, these are all with the first team, with new Villarreal player and Brazil internationals Nilmar and Kleber and ex Argentine international Andres d'Alessandro.
- He played a key role in Inter's run to the final of the Copa do Brasil, Brazil's version of the FA Cup. That's why he missed a few games early in the Brasileiro. He, Nilmar, D'Alessandro, Taison, Indio, Guinazu, Kleber and a few others were rested for the Copa.
- He got injured in June, missing a few games. Other then the injury and a suspension (RC), he's started every game that he's eligible for with Inter's first team.
- He was trained at Internacional's youth squad, who are amongst the best in the world. Alex Pato, Bolivar, Renan, Marcos Ceara, Dani Carvalho, Dunga, Edinho, Alex, Fabio Luciano, Rochemback, Fernandao, Lucio and Rafael Sobis are all good examples of players trained there.
- He is a player who doesn't play with the typical Brazilian flair. He plays a roaming role behind the midfield and is extremely smart. He's well known for reading plays, one of the best in Brazil at intercepting short passes or long balls. Also a great man-to-man defender. For the reference to the bigger squads who cover Brazil, they mainly cover the flair players. An example of this is Kerlon, who is currently at Internazionale, and has failed in Europe the past few years. Sandro is not like that, he's one of the most likely players to succeed in Europe that I know. Sure, Douglas Costa and Neymar will get people out of their seats, but every team needs a Sandro.

Alright stato!
good knowledge
but i think the point (that i in particlular make on this forum) is that we are not in a position to take a chance on players
we need proven premier league/top league in europe players.

That was only the one poster mate, and he got cut down pretty fast!
how disappointing, i thought this was a thread about the best sandwich shop in London, Sandro in Spring Street, Paddington. I've been eating there on and off for 20 years :0)
The guy who makes the sandwiches there would do a better job for spurs than this sandro....
I'm please CorLuka understands me....
don't take yourself and your knowledge on players too seriously..
football is fun!
