Thanks Bass, yeah i remember a lot of hype about them in 07, and i havn't heard or found much about them lately, good to know they're both still in Europe, should be able to track there progress. And Dancubus, i've never played FM so wouldnt know :P perhaps thats why i needed to ask about players instead

The silly season has now officially become the boring season, so I thought I would bump this old thread & make an addition that I genuinely believe would be an awesome purchase.

      we want a number 10?

Giuliano of Intenacional might be our man! Having just brought in his club team-mate & at Brazil U20 level, Sandro, it would make sense to bring this lad along too if we could persuade Inter to let 2 of their big prospects leave at the same time! They would surely help each other settle down in North London quicker & that could only mean good things for Spurs!

He is very short for a midfielder (he reminds me quite a lot of a young Diego but he's even shorter!) but he plays right up alongside the striker and what he lacks in height he makes up for in other areas! He has great balance & skill on the ball, is quick & likes to run at defenders. However, it is vision & ability to pick out passes in the final 3rd that really catches the eye. He only just turned 20 in May this year, so he has a very bright future ahead of him & we HAVE to be aware of his talent.

We have a partnership with Inter, as we know, & that might help us land this kid. He will surely move to Europe at some point soon & I can really see him in the Brazil senior squad in the near future as, with Diego's lack of form, they are lacking a skilful number 10 these days. Maybe Sandro can help persuade him to come to North London!!

Here's the goal he scored in the Copa Libertadores QF that helped see Inter knock out Estudiantes:

Then, he scored the only goal in the SF 1st leg against Sao Paolo, & it was a cracking finish too. Inter are in the final thanks to Giuliano in a big way, so he's proving to be a big game player:

      and how about this corker:

Here's a compilation, but it is a year old (remembering he only just turned 20 thise summer, so most of this footage is of him as an 18/19 year old):

if we truly do have 1st refusal on Inter players, we have to go for this kid surely! Its not that unrealistic at all to picture him at Spurs sometime soon.

He was also 1 of 6 players (alongside Sandro) picked out for special mention by a "panel of experts" on 2009's "Talent Factory" on Foot Brasil:
      Jan Vertonghen!
      Vertonghen is his name!
      Spurs will never ever-ever,!
      lose again!

maybe we could get Giuliano and let them have Jenas, Bentley and Hutton on loan for a year ? A year in Brazilian football would surely sort them out. Its a shame hardly any english players go to play abroad, they should take the leaf out of the brazilians who flood many foreign leagues, with loads of their citizens switching nationality and often playing for the country the emigrate to.

There"s a young lad who plays for Cardiff City who looks to be a good prospect , ADAM MATTHEWS 18 plays MF but has been used as a RB in most of his games, already had nearly 30 first team appearances.

Notice Giuliano came on in the final's 2nd Leg & scored the winner . . . AGAIN! Internacional have now officially won the Copa Libertadores (well done Sandro!) & Giuliano scored an impressive 6 goals in the competition, including decisive goals in the QF 2nd leg, the SF 1st leg, the final 1st leg & the final 2nd leg. He's turned into Inter's Gazza really, scoring their goals from midfield & effectively taking them to the final & ultimate victory single-handed. He's still only just turned 20 remember.

They're now saying he will be Inter's next big name to move to Europe, let's hope it is to Spurs!

Inter win Copa Libertadores thanks to their next big prospect Giuliano
      Jan Vertonghen!

It would be a crime if he's good and signs for any team but us with our partnership thing. Also, whereas they may not want to sign our kids on loan, surely it would benefit our kids to send them out there to train for a couple of months each year, would be a great experience for them.

      Lewis Holtby

The german under 21 captain who is half English is currently on loan at Mainz, who are top of the table in the Bundesliga. I have watched him last two weeks with a close eye and against Bayern he was great! Im sure his parent club Shalke will be dying to get him back as he is lighting up the Bundesliga the same way Ozil did in the previous years. Surely one to watch out for especially as he may end up playing for England one day.
