Taiwo is too good a prospect to let slip. If we can get him for a reasonable price then im all for it. Then we can sell BAE and Bale. I know there are Bale lovers on this forum but i am getting fed up with seeing his limp average displays every week. Lets cash in on him while the money is good.

I watched Taiwo play for Marseille againsr Le Mans the other day & this kid was superb. Powerful, skillful, confident. Please go for him Harry, he's perfect for our needs & if BAE still wants to go back to France maybe some sort of swap could be arranged?

I have to agree... BAE is a liability!

he is not too bad going forward - however he CANNOT defend what so ever and he punts the ball constantly without a care as to where it goes! the most frustrating player we have other than Zokora!

This is a few weeks old now but it confirms that we were interested in Taiwo & he was interested in us. The original quote in the press did not seem to mention Tottenham Hotspur, despite the headlines claiming that it did. However, this SkySports report from Feb 14th clearly implies that we were after him. Unfortunately their quote ends at the juicy bit. I assume the next word was going to be 'fee' but what he said after that is a bit of a mystery. I'm guessing he went on to say that he'd happily be on his way to Tottenham!

i think if he can accomodate for luka in a roaming left midfield position then its a great idea. also playing modders on the left side allows us to account for his lack of power by bringing in a marauding type cm.

I don't really like that idea because it means we're weak defensively on the left hand side. I'd rather we play 4-1-2-1-2 with Modric being AM and Palacios DM, and bring a natural LW to play on the left because he won't mind helping out in defence.

i dont see it like that, when he dont have the ball modric will be a conventional LM, hes shown he can track back and hustle, its when we do have the ball hes allowed to drift around, finding gaps. i just think we could do with the extra industry in our midfield.

Apparently Marseille's 26 year old DM is desperate to leave France for the Premiership. Modeste M'bami was hoping to leave in the January window but a move failed to materialise. Hs contract will now
terminate in the summer & he will leave the South of France on a free.

The thing is do we want him & do we now have room for another DM now that we have both Zokora & Palacios at the club?

The reason I ask this is he is best friends with Marseille's talented LB who M'Bami is determined to take with him to England! Could we therefore land 2 players for the price of 1? It would certainly help the pair of them settle down all the more quickly if we did go for them together.

Either way, it looks good for us if we are in for Taiwo. I don't think M'Bami fully expects to end up at the same club as his mate but just wants to be in the vicinity (or at least the same country!). If M'Bami leaves he wants to have his mate leave too & if we put a bid in it looks all the more likely we'll get him!

The two rumors with the most steam seem to be Taiwo and Aiden McGeady which would solidify left quite nicely. I said on another post that this allows Modric to roam the middle. BAE can be the cover at the left with Bale (lets not give up on him yet), Gio (kids a talent, this will be a good offseaon), and Adel. If these were the only two players we brought in and just trimmed the fat a bit I think we'd be alright. Let's not overhaul again.

isnt mcgeady supposed to be a ****er? not really what i want at spurs...

if palacios had a quality distributor next to him, in the carrick mould, i think we can comfortably accomodate modric on the left.
