The shirt thing annoyed me a bit at the time but I think some people took it way too far. I agree with lots of things said about the guy, good passer, and a battler who carried on after losing teeth (Can you imagine C Ronaldo doing that?). Being brought on only to be taken straight off would annoy the hell out of most. If anything it shows he was eager to be on the pitch. How many players at Spurs look eager nowadays?
