Not sure about him tbh but what i do like is his attitude, no complaints whatsoever and can put a tackle in. For 10 mil i'd be quite happy, but only as a last resort to failing to agree terms with porto for joao. Just imagine that midfield 3 as well. All of them would be able to make bulldozing runs

    Doesn't that entice?!
That would be beastly AND super sleek.

If we got Moutinho instead, I would be fine with it. He's quality.
But the thought of picking up this kid for a 1/3 or even 1/2 of Moutinho's fee (or preferably a Levy fee) & investing the savings in another striker makes far more sense.
Built for now & the future.

Spurs interest in Belhanda cools as Fenerbahce move to complete deal - Soccer News - Turkish Football

the problem is that they can offer him a huge salary and that they are very keen to sign him - they will add the extra 3 mil. Will we? doubt it. Can we offer a huge salary? No. But the one thing we can offer him is premier league football and im sure most people would rather live in London than Turkey. However that's only if we can match the 15 mil - which i doubt we would.

I withdraw my statement regarding the money - it seems he doesn't value it as much as most footballers. If we were to match the 15 mil, he'd probably come to us.

    From the in depth article

FOR SALE: Younes Belhanda of Montpellier – Only One Owner

When transfer rumours start, there will always be talk of Money. I’m not sure, however, that money is the motivating personal factor for Belhanda – again in the L’Equipe interview he spoke of not wanting to flash his cash (citing, amongst other things, religious reasons), and referring to buying a Porsche as “une folie de jeunesse”, and ‘unnecessary’, with an air of regret. He does seem to want Montpellier to profit, however, citing Eden Hazard as a good model to follow – “I hope that one day, Montpellier can cash in, thanks to me”. But his over-riding motivations seem to be disappointment and frustration, maybe even fear; having set the bar so high for himself and failed, is he looking for an escape? If so, a move to Fenerbahce may make more sense; a league ranked 12th in the UEFA coefficient might be more manageable than a move to England (2nd) or even staying in France (5th). There’s a temptation to think that if he just lightened up a bit, this situation might not have happened.

€2.4m per season = roughly £162.9k per month, also we can't tell whether that figure is pre-tax or post-tax, if it's the former then his actual salary would be lower. Surely we can afford it.

Anyway, since we've been talking about this guy with enthusiasm, I thought it would help if I repost a summary which I posted a little while ago.

Estimated value on transfermarkt.com: £12.5 million

    Ligue 1 2011-2012 season records:

They have a very similar touch on the ball and they're both from Morocco?

Although Belhanda seems like a much more professional and settled person than Taarabt.

I would hope so because Taarabt had too much of an ego for me when at Spurs.

    Yea definately.

Although to be fair Taarabt has been very good at QPR but i think he needs to be the main player in the team to perform. He'd never have worked out at Spurs as a part of a squad of good players.

Belhanda doesn't seem like that kind of guy at all.

Taarabt does not impress me much at QPR. Ok i will admit i dont really follow him, but for the creative goalscoring machine he was in the Championship he is still very average to me in the premiership. English football does not suit him though I do believe France or Spain could suit him more.

yeah, i know what you mean. I know exactly what he's going to try to do every time he gets the ball - rag the whole opposition team. Admittedly he usually gets past one or two before he gets tackled but he always overdoes it - he has talent though, there's no doubting that. Its just he thinks he can run through the team like messi

I dont think we need this guy to be honest. Does not really impress that much and reminds me of a certain flop that is now playing for AC Milan. I'd rather see Moutinho come here.

We all would mate. But Moutinho is twice the price and with less resale value. It's a business, not a game.
