cant lose him. especially with the naughton interview. "I'll talk to Tottenham and see what they think, but if it looks like they can't give me at least a couple of games, then perhaps we'll have to have a look around."

Yeh, right.
cant lose him. especially with the naughton interview. "I'll talk to Tottenham and see what they think, but if it looks like they can't give me at least a couple of games, then perhaps we'll have to have a look around."
Dont want to see Charlie go, he can play centre back too, and has also played left back, he has been great for us. Im sure this has just got to be paper talk as the transfer window is nearing and this is the time the mad journalists use their artistic license and any player who has not played many games fro us will be on his way and upset and we will again be linked with pretty much half or europe and half of the rest of the world's footballing community.
What other plans does Harry Redknapp have?
Either he doesn't want Charlie -Maybe he thinks Charles isn't good enough
He wants him - For depth and europa
Of course charlie is needed in the team he just needs to fight for his place. Frankly if he really said that he can't be bothered to fight for a place, even though I love himhe needs to go. We don't need that mentality.
An article about Corluka and his possible replacement..
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is on the look out for up to three new additions in the January transfer window, but with money tight following Spurs' failure to qualify for the Champions League last season, any targets must be versatile.
Top of his list of utility men is Ajax's Jan Vertonghen, who Metro revealed yesterday has already been scouted by newly appointed scout David Pleat, but Sporting Lisbon's Pereira is now also under consideration.
The 27-year-old is at home either at right back or on the wing, but can also play in central midfield and as a third forward in a 4-3-3 formation.
Pereira is valued at around £8 million by Sporting, who signed him from Braga for £3 million in 2009, following spells at Benfica and Gil Vicente.
However, although there are now shortage of potential suitors, Pereira comes with a fiery reputation, with a history of collecting yellow and red cards, including one gained after unleashing a tirade of verbal abuse at a referee in April.
Villarreal and French money-bags PSG have both been scouting the Portugal international since March, but are yet to firm up their interest with an offer.
Any deal may rest on Redknapp's ability to offload Croatian full back Vedran Corluka, who has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane, and has interested Aston Villa in recent weeks.

This is what Corluka has said to the croatian press..
- Trener forsira Walkera, a na stoperu me ne vidi. Najlogičnije je da sjednemo i dogovorimo korektan rastanak - rekao je Vedran za Sportske novosti.
- Coach favors Walker, and he does not see me as a CB. Most logical thing is for us to sit down and resolve this in a way which would suit us all- Vedran said for Sport news

if walker gets injured for 6 months or something u never know hes young so that happens a lot to young players.
It will be hard to get a replacement for him so I would keep corluka.
However if we sell him kaboul can cover right back as well.
However im sure hes told by bilic to search for a new club if he doesnt get play time because of euro 2012.
Same with olic from bayern and pranjic and niko will be told as well.

Thugz mate its not us wanting to sell him its him not wanting to fight for his place in the team.
The more I read it the more pathetic it gets TBH.
I love him as a player and his ability is top draw (Pace aside) but his drive clearly is questionable.
That is not good enough for us now.
I dont understand the fighting for a place thing if he really said it because hasnt he been injured the whole season almost?
So he couldnt even fight for a place.
I remember him being very patient last year when hutton got in front of him as right back but he always said that he will keep on fighting for the spot and wait for his chance because thats how he is. And he got his chance and took it however hutton is shit and walker is 3 times better than hutton so thats another story.
I would be really suprised if that changed . Certainly because he is still injured and then saying something like this. Its pretty weird.
Could only be because of the euro 2012. No other reason imo.

I would hope if fit that Corluka would play quite a few PL games this season as well as EL and FA Cup. I'm a big fan of Walker but would be happier with a fit Corluka in the team against quite a few PL opponents, Walker still has quite a bit of learning to do which will happen playing 25-30 games a season but I don't think he's a better choice than Corluka in the tough away games when Lennon is playing.
Cos Charlie was piss poor at the start of last season, got injured and Hutton came in and did the job for a few games.
In regards to Naughton, he's been in and out of the Norwich team and I've always felt he was as good as Walker.
Adam Smith has been fantastic for MK Dons, and Bournemouth last season. Perhaps he could play a similar role that Danny Rose is playing, back up to a player but knows they wont be getting that many games but will wait for any injuries to fill in. Naughton could do this as well, but he most likely wants first team football.
How good is Naughton exactly? and is he good enough to play a part next year? I would like to see Corluka play in the more tricky away games, just to give us a bit more stability in the back.
