Thread: Corluka Gone

No doubt that he will get some games this season, but he wants to have a place in the national team.. and a benched player is not really a first option for his country..

Hmmm ... did he 'allegedly' speak to a British journalist or is this a translation from a Croatian news source?

If he 'allegedly' spoke to a British journalist, then I don't believe the story. I just can't imagine Charlie using the words I have underlined. If the story has come out of Croatia and been translated, there might be some truth in it.

We have Luka (I am a slave) Modric, Niko (I'm overpriced) Krancjar & Vedran (I'm injured but the manager won't play me) Corluka.

I thought they were supposed to be "cracking lads"?

Modric is one of the better players in this league.. according to the fans here.. but he gets paid like a Bolton player..

Kranjcar is overpriced, based on the two last seasons.. rotation came a bit too late ..

Corluka.. simply wants out cause he does not see any chances of regaining the RB spot.. not without the injuries of his team mate..

He's not getting games because he isn't fit.....

If he had any type pf pace he could easily be one of the greatest defenders we have ever seen.

His positional sense and ability to read the game is even better than our King.

Shame if he goes as his best pal will without doubt be pissed and ready to jump ship again (I am sure Kranj will want out too in the summer).

This for me sums up his attitude to regaining his place so I think it is probably best he leaves for both us and him.

I would rather he stayed and fought but that clearly isnt gonna happen so best we cash in.

i have been listening for one year now how Walker is the future of this club and national team.. the future is now..

and Corluka has been a part of the national team for years and years now.. sitting on the bench most of the time will mean that he no longer is the RB for Croatia.. and he is gonna sit in london most of the time..

I think he does that cause we are very short in that position.. against Turkey he was at LB (another position we have no real player for).. but his best position is probably RB or at least his fav..

I think more important than keeping him for depth reasons, is to keep the team settled. I want Modric to be happy, and Corluka being on the team does that job. He's incredibly underrated, and when he's fit we can surely use him. But for now, with Walker's play, and our current form, I just don't see him getting many games.
