He's been an unused substitute far to much to be considered an important player for Bremen. In some of their most critical games this season he wasn't even on the pitch. I've seen him play a bit since that match where everyone bases there assessment of him from, (there's a lot of Germericans playing in the Bundesliga) he's never replicated that form. In fact he disappears from matches very often then pops up with one or two assists every 5 to 10 games. Those stats you posted are from all competitions and are deceptive. He's young but he's not that young, he's almost 23 which means a year younger then Lennon.
My point was people were putting him in the same bracket as some other top players playing on the continent. Based on what we've actually seen him do on the field I don't know how anyone can say that. He's not terrible but he hasn't proven to be a special player IMO and he'd probably cost more then other special talents like Eriksen or Shaq.

Marin isn't good enough. Move on.
But, I say move on from him as well . . . .
I think we have to agree to disagree here. You are like describing a whole different player. As I said earlier, I don't think he is class from the good game he played for us. In some games on same season, he was pulling teams apart in BL, against us he was quiet compared to what he was doing at BL. Of course this kind of players fade out now and then, even CR7 have quiet games at times.
Unused substitute ? I mentioned that I am not talking about current season, I probaly haven't seen him playing this term but last year he took part in every single BuL game and season before it, he missed 2 games. Before this season, he missed 6 BL games... during 4 seasons (2 for Gladbach and 2 for Werder). It is exacly Harry-kind-of-signing to buy a player who is not in best form, and turn it around.
Theese statistics are only from BL games !!! Not all competitions combined....
I am not saying that he is one of the best players on continent, not at all, but he is good. And I think he would be great backup for our wingers. We could get him for reasonable price I guess. 22 is surely not the youngest guy but he still is young and he has 4 full seasons of BL behind him, so he is not to green eighter.
the only thing marin has in common with luka is his weak shot. good player but definately not good enough for us, i'd like to see him go to arsenal, would be a huge flop![]()
Yes C. Ronaldo has quiet games but he's still C. Ronaldo. Marin when he's on form looks pretty good but for the hype he gets its so rarely shown IMO. Every player has issues with consistency but he's had long periods of average play. It's hard to say which is the real Marin, the one who had his most impressive match against Spurs or the one who often disappears during matches.
Most of his statistics were accumulated early in the season, he started to dip off in form after they were put out of the CL, arguably before. He didn't start all the matches in the CL, he came off the bench for a couple. The second half of the season he was marred by long barren spells and little flashes of form. For 3 straight matches against beatable opponents he came off the bench.
He only had, 3 goals and 9 assist in the BL last season. Two of those assist were on the last matchday were both teams didn't have much to play for. Also a few of his better statistical matches came against relegation teams or bottom half sides.
At the prices being rumored for him I'd rather we were a bit more aggressive and went for a player like Eriksen, who's the same type of player but better IMO, or Shaq. He's not a bad player but I just don't think he's all he's regularly hyped to be.

he would probably be a flop there, but i think Harry could get the best out of him. We know he can be good enough, and harry has a tendency to make players play to their potential. VDV certainly wasn't playing to his potential at madrid, and look what he's done here. Ade(other than some finishing) and Parker have looked world class this year. My point is that Marin has all of the qualities to be a fantastic footballer, he just lacks the consistency. I maintain that a change of scenery and playing under harry could do him wonders
I love certain things that come from argentina, one in particular.
apparently signed by chelsea for 6.5m
I'd rather Hoilett on a minimal fee. Marin's better ofc, but we're not dripping with cash.
Good signing for Chelsea. They're assembling a pretty tidy future with Lukaka, Marin, De Bruyne, Courtois, Cahill etc.
Chelsea is my dream club," Marin told Sport-Bild.
"I'm happy that I get the chance to play for them. It is a challenge for me.
"Tottenham Hotspur were also interested, but I opted for Chelsea, because they suit me well."
Example why we need champions leauge!!!
It's been my life, Tottenham Hotspur, and I love the club.

This is great news.
Chelsea have just bought the most overrated/hyped talent his age.
For his type of player this leaves open actual difference makers like Eriksen.
