Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho lines up Gareth Bale bid - Football Hotline - Football - Sport - People.co.uk
JOSE MOURINHO will move in for Tottenham’s Gareth Bale in January.
He hopes to tempt manager Harry Redknapp to do business by offering Lassana Diarra in a £25million deal.
Real Madrid manager Mourinho is desperate for a new left-sided player and has switched his attention to Bale after missing out on Chelsea and England’s Ashley Cole.
He will offer £13m plus Diarra, who was with Redknapp at Portsmouth. Mourinho, as People Sport revealed, has tracked 21-year-old Bale, right, for some time.
Spurs signed him from Southampton three years ago and his impressive form was rewarded with a new four-year deal in the summer. Former Arsenal, Chelsea and Portsmouth midfielder Diarra, 25, has also attracted interest from Manchester United, as revealed by People Sport last week.
There were no takers but Mourinho hopes his offer will tempt Redknapp.
Meanwhile, Spurs are demanding a “rental package” for England under-21 star Kyle Naughton, who wants to go on loan for the rest of the year.
Portsmouth head the chasing pack but Spurs are looking for his £12,000-a-week wages to be paid in full and a six-figure loan fee on top, making it an expensive deal for hard-up Pompey.
Keep coming for him Jose, you wont get him though.
