I'm kidding folks. The fact of the matter is we need a striker a.s.a p. A specialist someone just to stick the ball in the net. We create so many good chances and our conversion to goal ratio is not good enuff and our season will be in trouble.

Top strikers are not cheap. No choice. Levy has to fork out, just for a 'Specialist' striker He has to work on something now for january. Identify him. Send a high level delegation and get him. We are not gonna win the CL but we can try again if we finish 4th in the PL at least.

Manchester United Boss Toys With Idea of Re-Signing Diego Forlan after “Come and Get Me” Plea

I think it would be quite a big risk signing him, he was nothing special during his last spell in the Premiership and he's also getting old now. Having said that, he was superb at the World Cup and has had a great few seasons at Athletico Madrid. There's no doubting his quality.

Just don't want to splash out and pay over the odds for him...to be honest I would prefer Fabiano, if possible.

Up front is probably our weakest area in the team at the moment, Crouchie and Defoe are brilliant on their day but, for me, can't produce the goods over the course of a whole season. Whether it is in January or next summer, I definitely think we need to strengthen in that area.

Get him Levy! He was the best player at the WC and he has something to prove in the Premier League.

If Levy wouldn't pay for a 29 year old Fabiano he sure as hell isn't going to sanction a more expensive move for an even older player. In my opinion this is not the sort of striker we should be targeting in the first place. If our goal is to, in the long term, be consistently competing for a Champions League spot we need to sign a striker who will be around for a long time and who thus could provide goals to help us reach these accomplishments. As much as Forlan would be a proven, big name striker he would not be able to assist in the realm of long term goal-scoring.

We should be looking at players like Dzeko who might be more expensive but also offer the potential for a greater length of service to our club. save the 18 million you would spend on Forlan, sell Jenas and Keane for a combined 12 and offer 30 for Dzeko.

What about Clint Dempsey. ? He would fit right in. Always gives 100%. Experianced in the PL, Europe, an international striker, played and scored in two World Cups. 27yyrs. Tremendous work-rate. Team player.

Worth a shout for 10-12mil on our wage structure. We do like to watch the pennies, don't we.! I don't think Levy is gonna pay 30mil for Dzeko and break the pay structure.

I think Dempsey is a RW/RF I'd take him as a squad player though.

I think Forlan is a great player but I'm just not sure how much we need him now we have VDV. I know they're not exactly the same type of player, but if we continue to play as we have in a 451, with Rafa in the hole, then I don't really see Forlan as the ideal person to lead the line.

. . . Suarez, on the other hand, yes please! I don't even care that he'd be cup-tied as it won't even matter that much by the end of January. By then the group stages will be finished anyway & who knows how long we'd last if we reach the knockout stages. Thinking more positively, Suarez arriving in Jan would only help us in the knockouts anyway, even with him not playing, as it would be a confidence boost for the rest of the squad & it would mean he would only have the League/FA Cup to focus on, giving our other strikers the chance to concentrate on the CL.

I actually think that Suarez is the perfect solution to the VdV 'conundrum' anyway. Suarez is a great striker but he is equally effective on the wing. That means we could play a 442, with Rafa on the RW & Suarez plus whoever up top, but when Rafa decides to drift inside, Suarez can drift wide & the movement would be quite natural

I don't think Harry looks further than his favourites Defoe and Crouch. He won't give 'Super Pav' a clear run and keeps hangin onto Keane. After all, Vdv was levy's signing. Our strikers are simply not burying that damn ball in the net.

Les Ferdinand should get them on the training ground and drill them in the deadly art of goalscoring. Stay there until it get's dark...!!

Personally I'd ship over Klinnsman because I think that Ferdinand was ever so slightly passed it (goal scoring terms) when he was at Spurs. He was at his best at QPR & Newcastle.

nope, but according to the papers HR was scouting him last night.........but I was speculating in regards to what the fella said on SSN earlier this month about us bringing in a player on loan from the Spanish league.
