Gio is a bit enigmatic but seems like the penny has finally dropped lately, KJH is a no for me.
With the World Cup and a good pre season, it seems like Gio could be our breath of fresh air this season?!
He still needs to turn up to training on time & work harder, drink less tho. I have to say tho that, against Benfica, he certainly seemed to be committed & with a point to prove & he ran his socks off. On the evidence of that 1 game he certainly seems to have got his head straight - I'm not including the WC because there he is living on his training camp (so it would pretty impressive to be late) & is totally removed from the sort of distractions that have got in his way here in London. It is also under a different boss with different expectations & who knows how Mexico's training sessions compare to Tottenham's. However, a few weeks in the summer in South Africa is VERY different to a full season over winter in England - so he still has a bit more to do to fully convince me I'm afraid.
Personally tho, I would give him until January to show whether he is prepared to knuckle down & considering his time at Spurs has been blighted with injury, he deserves to have a go whilst fully fit at least. He has to be on his last warning tho.
Jan Vertonghen!
Vertonghen is his name!
Spurs will never ever-ever,!
lose again!
COYSAFOYS
He if he comes good will be 100% a Spurs fans favourite.
His style of play and how he carries himself is all there to see and if he pulls up some trees and genuinely tries the Faithful with adore him ever more.
I agree that he could be a huge player for us this season.
So with Gio starting to show some good light on his situation do we think a 4 4 1 1 could work for him? I'd fancy it thats for sure

After watching this video, Id take Suarez!!!
This video also explains where he learned his goal keeping abilities. LOL
Harry Redknapp: "I sorted out the team formation last night lying in bed with the wife. When your husband's as ugly as me, you'd only want to talk football in bed"
Really excited about GDS this season, like Bass said he still has to prove himself on the big stage week in week out. Then I'll be a very happy man, would love to see him become a 1st team regular.
As for this deal.... I'll take my chances with Gio thank you very much.
I would prefer to keep Gio based on recent performances. If he can emulate his World Cup form for us, there is no reason why he can't take the left sided role in a 4-2-3-1. Actually, he could probably take any of those attacking roles save for the CF.
Can't really add to what has already been said. Gio could be a fan fav this year, but he is the only one that can do that for himself. He is good enough, probably one of the best players we've got based on raw talent, but he really needs to want to do it.
So far this pre-season he has said the right things, and has conducted himself right throughout the World Cup and Pre-season.
He could be like the signing we never had if he comes good.
