You know what mate it occurred to me reading your post it may be fook all to do with the ECL, The Prem, The CC, The FA Cup and any other competition we play in but more to do with HM Revenues and Customs.
Maybe that is what we are waiting for not a CL qualifier.
I agree though something just aint right or kosher about the sheer amount of speculation and the monumental lack of substance or real action.

Would take davies over upson every day of the week, Davies had a great season at villa last season and upson didnt. And he is 6 years younger than upson who is an ex-goon and a pikey.

I appreciate that with CL almost upon us, we are getting desperate to sign someone, but ffs the gloom on here about the potential signings is lacking any sense of proportion.
Aside from City and a bit from Liverpool, who else has really made a big signing (or signings) this window?
As with all of these windows the majority of the business will be done in the last few days, if not the last few hours /minutes of the window, and I am not surprised we have done very little so far.
I know we are desperate to get new bodies in, due to the CL but tbh I would rather get the right ones in even if it means waiting to the end of August.
There is no doubt in my mind that we will offload two or three and bring in two or three, but it all takes time. My advice would be to take everything you read with a huge pinch of salt, bide time and don't panic too much, in due course these transfers will happen.
Lastly, we have a squad of players that last year got us to 4th in probably the toughest league there is, if no players come in before the CL qualifier I am sure these same players will get us through to the group stages. I know we are Spurs fans and are used to the perennial disappointments our beloved club gives us but even by Spurs standards this is getting ridiculous, the season hasn't even started yet and already most of us are gloomy!!
