I believe Agbonlahor can hold the ball up better than Defoe thats for sure.. Defoe doesn't give much work rate while agbonlahor will battle for everything, chase every ball.. why are we even talking about this? I havent heard any news on agbonlahor so it wont happen.
I only mentioned him cause Milner is the lastest rumour and just said Id prefer Agbonlahor than him thats all.
I know we need the world class striker but it's not looking like we are anywhere close to getting anyone. Given the latest news linking us to Milner and Young I suspect Harry might be thinking that too. Do we have enough money for Young and then another 25 - 30 mil for a striker? Not so sure.
We need to offload a bunch of players before we can think about bringing two 20m+ signings in. After that we are supposed to be looking for a goalkeeper and isn't Micah Richards still on the cards? I suspect Keane is waiting on Villa to fatten their purse from the Milner sale then he will be off (sadly) and if Jenas wants to go too then I wouldn't complain. I don't mean to be disrespectful but it's probably the best thing for him.
I think it's time to give up on Dzeko. Wolfsburg have stated they aren't going to sell him and they're not exactly strapped for cash.
we cannot get a world class striker face it. we got to the cl without a world class striker and we can do it again without decent strikers . agbonlahor is young and can still improve and i would welcome him. also young caan be a magical player, cool technique and very dynamic
We need to raise our wage structure to 100,000 pwk. We will anyway...!! We are now a piority top four side. Blue chip. Spurs can bid for the world class players. The squad we have, will have to raise their standards and compete for places. All around it will send a signal of high standards, strength of ambition and intent. Mr Levy is sound at managing our finances. We can absorb it elsewhere.
Buying Milner is false economy, when we could attract world class players with a bigger wage structure. We are going to increase our wage structure. Believe.!! We would have no choice !! We are top 4 from now on. The secret is good judgement from the Manager to build a successful winning squad to match.

Not if there is any chance it will endanger the well being of the club, that is far more important than signing any 1 or 2 players who just want to get paid six figures a week.
We dont know this for sure, no matter how ITK people may be, nobody knows exactly who we have spoken to, when and what was said. We could go and sign Suarez in 2 days without anyone even realising it beforehand because we only hear things from the media who are there to make profit, spreading speculation of an exclusive is a great way to sell newspapers even if its complete balls.
Dont count us out yet unless 'Arry comes out and says "We enquired for 2-3 world class strikers and they all said no chance in hell"

Not quite sure about this one. The Fabiano move is an extremely realistic one in my mind. A man who has scored 28 goals in 40 some appearances for Brazil is getting pretty close to world class. His age is obviously a concern but he is not a player you buy for the future. As last season indicated we are in a position to win now. Might as well bring in players that will help us do this.
Drogba was around this age when he came good, always decent before that but never seen as anything special. If we got fabiano and he ended up being 3/4 of the player drogba is i'd be happy. Preferably without the flopping like a fish that is.

does no one understand that we are not actually in for Milner... AV rate him at £30M we would never spend that much money on a player... we have declared interest in him so Man City up their bid to £30M instead of the £24M they have bid atm... so Milner will go to Man City thus inturn Bellamy leaving and more than likely coming to us...
Basically Milner is going nowhere for less than £30M and this is a way of getting Man City to bid £30M for him...
As for Ashley Young... we made a bid for him a year ago but they rated him at £30M back then where as now He's probably worth £15-£20M so that's why we're in for him...
good point about milner there. and i think young would be a good deal all round for 16mill
