If you were Harry and you were about to make your biggest signing of your career, would you do it while you were out of the country? Just give him a chance to get back to England, and then wait to see what happens. I'm guessing by Wednesday, we'll know something.

I tell you what GMAN may be spot on with that. Harry' quotes yesterday showed our ambition...He didn't say we were going to win the league he said thats the aim and it should be!!! That is the ambition we want to see.....

but didn't Fabiano come out a couple of weeks back and say something like "up until recently i didn't fuly understand how high Tottenham's ambitions were." Sounds as if thats how we are selling the club to potential targets.....let the good times roll....

Bale must have proved yesterday that he is a left winger, and not a left back, even though I think he was put down as a LB! His runs forward were just scary, time and time again.

A left back HAS to be on the list of priorities.

I thought he started out as a LM but in the second half went back to LB when the changes were made...

anyway i agree with you. a LB to provide competition for BAE is essential.....

and i don't think there is any chance to get him.

looks like Barca has agreed terms with Bremen.

"This is an exclusive report : Barcelona have agreed terms with Werder Bremen for the signing of German attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil (21), who is therefore set to join the Spanish club. More details are expected "

it's from footballpress.net... don't know how reliable this source is.

Harry re-iterated the point yesterday, altho in a slightly different way & almost as a sly swipe at City. He was talking about how city's spending will surely make them win the League at some point in the next few years. He added that, if he were able to go get the 4 players that he wanted, no holds barred & money no object, then he would take this Spurs team to the title no problem, lol.
      Jan Vertonghen!
      Vertonghen is his name!
      Spurs will never ever-ever,!
      lose again!

Tbh Im getting really fed up of the hangers-on in our squad who know they dont have a future with us, but are quite happy just taking the money every month or whatever, its about time we found a way to offload them even if means at a loss financially.
In particular I"d get rid of Jenas, Hutton and Keane just to get them off the wage bill, then decide which of the younger players to keep out of Gio, Taraabt,Naughton, Mason, Obika and Alnwick amongst others who have a question mark over their futures at spurs.

ESPN has been running clips of the Henry goal and it is embarrassing to watch Hutton get torched on the cross. Ditch Jenas, Hutton, and Keane and let Gio, Naughton, and a new striker take their places. Loan out the youngsters to decent teams and lets see what they can do. Jenas and Hutton have zero future with the team.

Actually, I believe he started at LM then moved to LB. Only to move back to LM again for about 10 minutes when Rose came on and then back to LB again when Mason came on.

Anyways... you are both right Bale is a midfielder.
