early hopes for signings in the summer

Whatever happens I hope we don't go on a collection spree again we have already managed to f#ck up to many good players already.

I started to post this in another thread but it should be in here so here goes.

At the back

CB

I think we need to cut our losses on Woody and King. I know this may be constued as controvertial but they dont play enough and are not getting any fitter or younger. I would love them to be fully fit but they just aint so time to move on. I would however say that as cover they are both top top draw. In the same role as the bummer is now doing at the goons. I dont think Kaboul will cut it and could be sold in the sumer.

Shawcross, Richards, Dawson.

Fullbacks.

Selling or loaning our cover at RB is bizare imo. Need a youngster to cover in there imo so seeing how our little lad out on loan gets on is a deciding factor here. Ideally I would like Richards ther but this isnt gonna happen as he wont be cover and will cost a fortune.

So for me we need to look within to promote either Kyle Naughton or Anton Blackwood into the first team squad as cover for Charlie.

We have 2 reasonable LB's now in BAE and Bale. I would like to see Bale moved up the park and released of many defensive responsabilities allowing us to have both our curent players on the left. This would leave us light again at LB but Bale could alway sit back in there and Modders or Kranj fill the hole he has left.

No need for cover but again we need to be looking within to get extra depth as spending here is far from a necesity. Anton Blackwood can play all across the back so could be an option.

Across the middle.

Out wide.

Bale as I said to be our first choice LW. We have ample cover here in the shape of Modders and Kranj so no signings needed imo.

RW is very solid also. Lennon has no one close to him when on song as is pound for pound the best RW in the Prem. Bently's resurgence in form is a fantastic problem for Arry to have. One word of caution here though........... Will either of them be happy sitting on the bench? Will big offers come in for both of them? Make your own minds up on those ones. So hopefully no signings needed. In adition to this though I think we have cover in Danny Rose should either of these be tempted by a big money move.

Middle of the park.

Now at most there are 3 places up for grabs. We need Willy as standard but he cant do it all on his own in that DM position. I dont think The Hud will ever grow the bollox needed and become that huge destroyer of a player he has the potential to be so I think we need cover/help in there for Wilson. I would like to see Philipe Melo or Lorik Cana but we would be paying proppa dough for both. Sandro will probably be the one we get though. I wouldnt mind seeing Anderson form Utd here also.

Attacking wise we have nice and balanced options. Modders, Kranj offer similar things and the Hud can sit a little deeper spraying and dictating the play against lesser sides. Nothing needed her imo.

Up top.

Keano wont come back. Pava will be sold. Gio will be sold. Im sceptical also that Goodjonsen wont be here.

That leaves us with 2 front men. Little and Large. Defoe and Crouch.

Desperately need somthing exciting to happen to push us onto the next level. Chamak would be nice for nothing but the Goons have tied that up already. KJH would be nice also but he wont leave Italy.

I would like Carlton Cole from the Spammers as he can do everything Crouchy does and he may hold up the ball better. I ideally would like no long balls but if that is how we are going i want it to yeild success.

Joe Cole up fornt would get goals but his fitness is a concern.

Soldado may come good but I would prefer to stick with EPL proven.

Souza (Hulk) from porto is young but I dont know if he would cope with the pace of the EPL and may take a decent bit of setling in. I also dont know how much of a look in he is getting at the minute.

The one I would like is Cardozo but he is 27 and not getting any younger.

What happened to arry finding unheard of gems from the frnges of africa?

Hulk would be amazing. He has a MASSIVE buy out clause in his contract and porto have stated numerous times that he won't be sold for any price.

Yeah, Hulk's just getting better and better alos, and I think we'd need CL football unfortunatly if we wanted to lure him here.

I think Cardozo would be a good shout also, he's definatly a much better finisher then Crouch and at something like 6"4' he's better in the air also. Might take time to settle in the EPL though.

I'd like to see it also, but I dont think that Bale's gonna be played at LM.
What I really want is us to sign a really pacey winger on the left. Kinda like a left sided Lennon. Even if we keep Modric out there, it'll give us the option to bring a player in who can run at the full backs on that side, its all about options.
Hatem Ben Arfa would be a good shout, but theres reservations over his attitude. Maybe Guardado from Deportivo, or Juan Vargas, I dunno just someone to give us some of what Lennon gives us, but on the left.
Saying that Bale gets forwards plently, and gives us that to a degree, but he's doing it from too deep. Also, that can leave us exposed at the back if he's getting forwards too often.

Chamakh's going to Arsenal, he's already said he want to play for them.

To get most of those players, I think we'd first need CL Football. This is why getting CL football is so tough. I takes time to build a squad capable of achieving it without the kinda money that comes from CL football, plus the ability to attract the best players.

Our problem is that each year we bang on about how we're going to break the top 4, instead of just concentrating on building a team good enough.

I think Martin Jol was going the right way about it. Had a nice mix of experience and young talent that he could build on. Firing him was one of the biggest mistakes this club has made in recent years.

That is pretty much my team in FM10, The only player i can see that is unrealistic is Dzeko though tbh. We have been heavily linked with the others and Afellay is pretty well unknown in the EPL so could be a steal.

Just me dreaming i suppose guys.
