It's always sad to see when something like this happens. Especially in a game we all love.

The people who are responsible for this shouldn't be even called human.

Hope the 73 people who died finds peace. RIP.

Typically football is pretty much a pretext for violence that has roots in lots of other things. That seems to be the case here- fans were outside the stadium chanting "Down with military rule" after the incident. Awful stuff.

BTW, Hossam Ghaly plays for Al-Ahly.

Allegedly politically motivated as none of the Army present apparently did anything to stop it , and indeed allowed the rioters to pass freely through their line .

A dreadful day for African football .

Nothing to do with football. The stadium was just a convenient place to vent their hatred. I feel desperatley sorry for the brave Egyptian people who stood up to Mubarak - now they have to suffer this shit. "meet the new boss, worse than the old boss"

Ordinary shops sell what look like black socks, but if you look closely, you'll see that they're very, very, very, very, very, very, very dark blue"

Just awful...can't understand how so many lives were lost. Hope this serves as a wake up call to Egyptian football and we don't see anything like it again.

I would say that I dont believe for a second that the authorities including ours and the other "super powers" didnt know about the potential for this to happen long before the game.

They monitor social networks so closely they must have known.

So they have an agenda against the current authority in Egyot and chose not to act.

      Slightly political?!?!?!?!?

      RIP poor fookers.

Here's a story about Bob Bradley (former US, current Egypt national team manager) taking part in protests after the event. He had his critics, including me, while he managed our national team, but a lot of people wouldn't have done this:

Bang on mate. And like the Rev said it could have been stopped but wasnt. What a mess!
I heard that the majority od deaths werent from stabbings but from concussions and people getting squashed while trying to flee!!
