As anyone every wondered why nobody makes a boot with any kind of arch support? About three weeks into season my feet hurt so bad i can scarcely walk. Or is that just a result of still trying tom play at my age?

You can buy arch supports to put in yourself but I guess they're so specific to a person that it'd be quite expensive to suit everyone who needs them.

Where was your pain at in your foot?

This past season and even now I've had to battle plantar fasciitis (pain towards the back of your heel) and it has been one of the most painful injuries I've had to play through.

The arch supports in basketball and running shoes are far superior--why can't the be like that for football? Why do they always have to have a completely flat insole? I have bought inserts and they only work for a few days wearing them, then they get flat too. The shoes just aren't made for any support.

I had to take a season off because of plantar fascitis--not a good thing to do at my age! I did find a heel support that I started wearing the helped. Now I wear them on both feet but I had to go up a size on my boots.

You could try taping the ligaments for support.

Kinso style. Which is a load of horse shit that good phisios have done for decades.

On ma phone so if this pops up again while I'm connected properly I'll elaborate further then.

I used the Kinesio tape on them (as opposed to regular white athletic tape) and really liked using it. It's stretchy so there is some give when you're running. But, I dont like depending on this sort of thing to get me through training sessions or games. So I took Nov/Dec off and the pain has subsided a lot. Hopefully as the spring goes by the pain will be completely gone.

Been doing a lot of cross training and using this under water treadmill to keep the pressure off my joints/feet.

That's some serious tech there mate you lucky fooker.

I got diclofenic and 3 weeks rest!!!

They're inflammatory injuries so rest and drugs are unfortunately the only real cure.

Then it's not over training and ensuring you stretch and cool down effectively.

Yeah taping done well is superb and breeds confidence especially after a bad injury.

That's why I suggested it for the arch as its a large ligament (who's name escapes me right now) that rund across the bottom if your foot and up the insude if your ankle that loosens and gives way allowing the arch to drop.

Ideally you'd strengthen it so it doesn't drop as the taping could have an adverse effect if over used as the stress is taken by the tape and not the liggament.

Practice screwing your foot into a ball as if trying to pick stuff up. Like clenching your fist.

Try to pick up clothes with your feet grabbing with toes ect as this envokes the right soft tissue mechanisms etc.

It is a serious pain to deal with though. Yeah, luckily the facilities here at my college are top notch and they take good care of the athletes here.

I was taking like 4 to 5 advil 5 days a week but the doctor here told me to get off it after the season b/c its not the best thing to take due to ulcers and all that

I bought these socks to wear at night. It's like wearing a football sock but there is a pulley attached to your toes and strap just below your knee. So basically your toes are being pulled back all night so it keeps the ligaments stretched out. I've stopped wearing them though but if I start to have problems like I did in the past I guess I'll have to start wearing them again.

Yeah, when the pain first started I was using a golf ball to massage my foot....jesus was that painful.

We've just begun training again (2 weeks into it) and so far everything is alright so hopefully the more I do the less pain I get.

That gripped my shit and needless to say his "breadbin" was coming on after about 12 minutes when "pinkboot" was collecting his knee from row Z!

Gues who didnt last til half time........ Yep pinkboot mk2.

Needless to say the trial didnt go well. Apparently too aggressive!
I cried a wee bit when I read that it was so funny.
On the day before Jorge Valdano was going to give 17 year old Raúl his Real Madrid debut,he went to see Raúl and said "I'm thinking of playing you tomorrow, but I'm worried you might be nervous." Raúl replied "Well, If you want to win, play me. If you don't want to win, put someone else in the team." Raúl Gonzalez Blanco <3
