      hey everyone, just talked to my dad and grandparents who live in yokohama and chiba prefecture;

      my dad can see the oil refinery fire from across tokyo bay in yokohama from chiba, and they've taken precautions in chiba and most of the northern prefectures by cutting out all electricity, gas, and water lines until these after shocks stop;

      yokohama is running normally except for the trains) and apparently since everyone can't go home everyones going out on the town drinking; the gov't have asked all schools in japan to remain open in case people need to over night in the schools until the morning, expecting trains to start running tokyo and south within the next 24-36 hours;

      however, I also talked toone of my friends in Sendai, and his uncle is stuck at the airport and flooded;

      for those of you who have loved ones or friends in Japan, I suggest that YOU DO NOT CALL THEM FROM OUTSIDE OF THE COUNTRY as the Japanese have shut down phone lines from outside the country in case of emergency; for those of you who are looking for people in japan, the suggestion at the moment is STRICTLY THROUGH SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES

      thanks to everyone who's sent me a PM message with their thoughts and prayers for my family;

      @boo wills my thoughts are with you mate, Ive been in Japan before for the earthquakes and I shit myself when its a 6.5, cant imagine what several aboce that in the course of hours is... Im hearin there has been 100 earthquakes across Japan today in total...

      kinda makes you think 2012 might actually happen, hey boys? Oh well, at least we'll win the European Cup before it happens~!

      It's good to hear stories like this coming through. Put's a strange smile on your face. Massive earthquake, can't get home, what to do, karaoke!!

      And how can it take only 24h to get the trains up and running after an 8.9mag earthquake? Here it'd take 8 months after a 1.2!!

      The employees of the national lines (Japan Rail) and the metro systems have to walk along all the tracks in japan and make sure that none of them are cracked;

      one positive thing about the japanese, were the most earth quake ready country in the world.
