      c) O'Hara is a good player... but he is given alot of face by the fans, which to be honest he hasnt earned as yet.... ditto Bentley now too...
      a) Because they've been built up into players they're not by people like you and we paid big money for both in their time and neither has really delivered. Now they're showing their true colours, they're just pretty ordinary 'squad player'. I think it was fans frustration too.
      b) Depsite your ridiculous exagerations re injuries, it is true he was included more because of injuries than anything else, initially. However I think the one B cap he got is proof that he was considered a very good prospect and he was picked for a good few squads, not just one or two like Tony Gardener. Dawson's partnership with a 100% fit King was I think exellent.
      c) You got to give Bentley time, especially as he's not been played on the right properly yet.

Jenas is a quality player that follows the tactical instruction given to him.... for the last 18months he has been asked to play as more of a holding midfielder (especially when teamed up with the slow Huddlestone) .... when hes asked to bomb forward and join the attack he does rather well...

as a midfielder in several games with top 4 sides hes scored against Arsenal, Chelsea and ManUtd.... as well as playing very well against them..

Jenas has proven to be our BEST midfielder for the last 2yrs at least... so why is he singled out by the Spurs masses so often for blame ??.. far more disproportionately than alot of the others in the whole team..

I agree, but therein lies the problem, we've been going backwards since Carrick (who was never adequately replaced) left and our midfield has been shockingly poor since his departure. So him being the pick of a bad bunch is no big deal really. He does have a habit of scoring against the big teams it's true, but personally I'd like to see his, undoubted, talents consistently week in week out, not every 5 or 6 games. I think that's the main reason for the abuse, again it's the fans frustration of knowing he can do much better on a consistancy level.

Jenas performs at roughly the same level most games.... but if hes asked to hold in the middle he aint gonna get many assists ot goals is he ??...

and unfortunately, thats the only thing fans recognise.... never mind all the ground he covers and closing down of space and opponents...

also hes not what the Spurs fans would call 'a bloke' a 'geezer'... hes fairly educated, well-spoken and is not an agressive loudmouth who goes around thumping his fists and baring his teeth during a game.... THATS the real 'problem' Jenas has with the Great Unwashed at Spurs..

Total and complete bollo. If he did he be a fixture in the England team, not always on standbye, because he has the ability. I think you'll find very few people in the country, let alone at Spurs that agree with you there. He gets stick for his inconsistency, not his bloody education.

bollo that you'd expect him to supplant the Media Darlings like Lampard and Gerrard in the England midfield.... he could play like Maradona and the Media and country would still demand those 2 over-rated clowns..

trouble is, if he does a good defensive job in central midfield but doesnt SCORE or even assist.... the Spurs Masses think hes had a bad game..... even tho hes actually played well..

the Masses have a very blinkered view of JJ.... he needs to be motm or score everytime he goes out on the pitch, even to be deemed an 'okay' player...

the likes of O'Hara, and now Bentley will barely need to tie their own shoe-laces to be given the same amount of acclaim and respect..

You talk some sense ie Lampard/Gerrard, but you're as extreme in your adoration of Jenas as the haters are in their barracking. Your not JJ's 'partner' are you ?

this is exactly my point... he is always seen to be slightly less than 'male' cos he doesnt jump around beating his chest... I am not being extreme at all.

All I said was that he is alot better and consistently so than alot of Spurs fans give him credit for... let me give you an example: how many yrs has Jenas been here and for the last 2yrs hes easily been our best midfielder, yet wheres the chant for Jenas ??

how long did it take for Bale to be given a chant.... a few games... how long is it gonna take Bentley to be given a Spurs chant ??... probably even less time than Bale....

its the little numerous things that all add up to give quite a sorry picture for Jenas... and with ugly 'connotations'..

jenas is a v good talent. only thing is hes like the hudd, in that the runs he makes off the ball and the one touch passing he does so well goes un noticed, hes also a very good tackler and a great mixer when things get rough, but he aint a yob like wanda ramos said.

i think people say hes had a bad game because he doesnt make them bombing forward runs he can do so well occasionally, i dont think this is out of choice, i think hes told to hold midfield as people have pointed out which is a terrific waste of a good forward going talent.

mm as for gerrard and lump-hard in the england make up, well, i can understand gerrard but the other one leaves alot to be desired. quite possibly the most over rated player ive ever seen. i mean does he actually do anything except smash 10 or 15 shots 40 yards over the crossbar every game?

It's up to me to get the confidence running through the players and if I can get that instilled you'll see a team that will really play." - Harry Redknapp - 29/10/2008

Now you're talking a bit more sense. But I can give you an even better example and that's Carrick, we never ever had a chant for him either and he was totally awesome for 18 months here and nearly took us into the Champs League. It's slightly strange I agree, though I'm not sure Jenas' slightly effeminate gate that's really the issue with the supporters, though it may be with a very small minority of course. Personally I think it's a lot to do with the fact that we just expect more from him, especially in terms of consistency, because he's an England international and is undoubtedly gifted.
