I'd ditch Defoe to accomodate Sandro and move VDV into a 'striker' role.
Parker and Sandro are both DMs but bring different attributes to the team, which is why I'm keen on always playing them as a pair. I feel sorry for Thudd - I can't see him getting a look in under this scenario.

Like I said about 3 weeks ago- if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
-------------Friedel---------
Walker--Kaboul--Gallas/King--BAE
VDV----Modric---Parker----Bale
--------Defoe---Adebayor
It'd be nice to experiment with 4-3-3 but I'd wait until we get some players fit.
Don't think 4-3-3 is for us if I'm honest. I mean our midfield would be fine (VDV as Iniesta, Modric as Xavi, Sandro/Parker as Busquets/Mascherano), but our forward line in this would be atrocious. Our wide players are midfielders; they wouldn't be suited to playing as wing forwards in a 4-3-3. Even if they were, playing Both Bale and Lennon like that would mean we would be playing exactly the same formation we are now, just written down differently on a piece of paper. Not to mention we'd lose the effectiveness of our surprisingly effective new striker. Big forwards almost never do well in this formation, just ask Ibrahimovich. In theory it sounds like it might work, but I just can't see it being effective at all. We would get less goals from our forwards than last year, and I don't think I could take that.

Completely agree. So far 4-4-2 is working really well, I don't see the need to change it. I also agree with you on the fact that Parker should start in front of Sandro, I honestly think (so far) he's been doing what Sandro did so well for us with an added bit of creativity.
Against 'Pool we looked like we did in the 2009-10 season, we created so much and didn't rely on the midfield for goals. Harry should stick with Kaboul for Wigan, he was excellent against Liverpool and Stoke, he was our MoM against Stoke in my opinion.
I think we should play 4-4-4 that way we can all have our favourite players in the team![]()

that's how i'd roll. with kran, lennon, hudd, defoe, daws, kab, and cud on the bench. tbh, i think bale would be best coming up from lb but bae is just too good to sit him. so, if bae gets hurt push bale back to left back and put niko or an inverted lennon on the left wing.
433 wouldn't suit our current roster of players however in Football Manager 2011 I play this formation with a lot of success and have won the prem five times on the trot, champions league three times, fa cup 6 times and Carling cup twice. The back four in a 433 are standard. 2 centre backs and 2 full backs. I use King/Gallas now Dawson/Bruno Alves with Corluka/Walker and BAE/Baines.
The 3 midfield are the most important part of your team. They keep tight on all players and barely give them time on the ball just like modric and Parker in the Wolves and Liverpool match. They need to be hard working so I sold Van der vaart as he is lazy and wouldn't be a good striker in my team. My first choice midfielders are Modric and Arturo Vidal , left and right of centre respectively and sandro playing a more defensive role in the centre of midfield.
The striker in the middle looks to be on the end of all of the attacks and the strikers on either side are more like advanced wingers than true strikers. The must come deep and pressure the opposition much like adebayor against Liverpool. I have Bale on the left, Hulk in the middle, and defoe on the right.
With our actual players I would play something like.
Friedel
Walker King Kaboul/Gallas BAE
Parker Sandro Modric
Defoe Ade Bale
I also believe that Kaboul now is better than how Dawson will ever be as of the Wolves and Liverpool game.

pretty much. i thought about going back to fix it, but the more I thought about it the more I liked it.
