bass...and as i say that this is the latest reply i got....

agree with all that , and not forgetting your keeper who made three top class saves imo.

yea gomes was just immense mate, some of the saves he pulled off left me stun... well actually pretty pissed off tbh but you get the idea haha. although he was also shocking at some points as well so i don't really know what to think about him (he chucked the ball to us at 1 point...)

as for defoe, in all fairness he an awesome player, no denying that but my god he's a little pr*ck, possible the most selfish player i've ever seen but as i said he scores goals and thats what ya need to win games... unfortunatly, and even 'arry seems pretty annoyed with him at the moment

but as ya say ya got crouchy and keane still upfront so your fine, although keane wasn't in the game today at all, i actually don't remember seeing him although i'm certain he started right?... lol

i'll have to watch MOTD to get the full picture but i don't think what i said was too far off tbh although it could just be the blue tinted specs talking XD

Spuds won cos you had about 4 or 5 chances and took 2. We lost cos we had about 30 chances and only took 1,(story of our life this season) Plus Tommy Smith spent all game busting a gut, and laid on 2 impossible to miss chances which Dindane managed to miss. Then sure enough, Smith was the 1 hauled off and the pathetic Dindane, left to carry on playing like a bloke whose has never seen a football before.

I would summarise it as a very good effort by a team that cost 1/10th as much as the Spurs side. I think we are getting better and better and when we meet teams that are less talented than Spurs we will start to hand out some spankings. Hull next week springs to mind.

All in all, didn't expect any points this week, so no surprise there. However, didn't expect such a close game that some could argue was loaded in our favour possession and chances wise.

I thought we deserved a point out of this. I STILL argue that it's a more pleasurable experience watching Pompey this year with a bunch of lads running their socks off and genuinely feeling gutted at the final whistle RATHER THAN much of last year when we had our team of millionaires sitting back, giving teams plenty of space, a JOKE in midfield and at the end trudging off with only Crouchie bothering to make an effort and acknowledge the fans. If we';d had O'Hara v Spurs could have been even more impressive and obviously Dindane needs to get a goal quick to get over yesterday's horrors. Spurs did NOT look like a team worth tens of millions more than us.

Tim and Blue - I couldn't have put it beter myself. A REAL measure of how enjoyale the game has become is that this morning when I walked into the study, my old man was on wikipedia looking up Football tactics. Last year, although he had a season ticket, he came to about 5 games. This year, he hasn;t missed one yet, and he wants to go to away games as well! What a cracker that game was yesterday? And yes, I nelieve we had more possession, more of everything - cept the goals

another excellent 3 points and we still sit 3rd with a home game against stoke to come before the scum game...

gomes is still as erratic yet brilliant as ever and it was great to see him back between the sticks...his lightning reflexes and dindanes incredible misses helped us on our way of course...oh and defoe is a twat!

      cheers lads!
