palacios was a good signing when we were in the mid table scrap ill give him that but he is nowhere near good enough for our starting 11 now,
defoe was a poor signing seeing as we sold him, then bought him back for more
please dont tell me you think crouch was a good signing :O
yeah gallas was a good buy, ill give redknapp that as it took guts to go against the fans and pull it off

explain to me why defoe and crouch were poor signings. I was under the impression that since we signed them they have contributed greatly to our recent successes. granted palacios is surplus to requirements but at the time he was exactly what we needed and therefore a good signing.

Defoe had a poor season last year but still think we should hold onto him, Crouch however....

that's not my point. All the players I have mentioned have been good signings IMO because of what they have brought to the team - not just this season gone but since we signed them! Defoe did have a poor season but his goals the previous season helped us get CL. Crouch's goals in the CL helped achieve what we did. I know it was a team effort but he was part of that team.

I'm not a huge fan of either defoe or crouch if I'm honest but I get fed up with all the crouch/defoe bashing.

Yeah I agree they have been integral to the success we have had for the last couple of seasons, although I think it's time for Crouch to move on

I'd agree, but only IF we replace him with someone better. same applies for all our strikers really though (bar keane who's time has been up for a while now)

Maybe Defoe will surprise us all next year again, he had a fantastic 2009/10 season. He was injured this year, maybe he just didn't recover well from that injury. And then you don't score and don't have confidence anymore.
