Charlie is a great RB and has done us proud last year and seemed to get better and better and for me is a better defender. Hutton i feel a little sorry for as he has been really unlucky with injuries. When Hutton joined he was great and looked like a he was going to be a superb RB for us and is better at going forward than charlie. So im going to sit on the fence on this one as i would like to see Hutton have a fair crack. Both great RB for different reasons!
      My favourite spurs player!

This is one of the most difficult calls, that I've seen on this site! I like them both and would like to think that they can both play a part in the team's future....as to who actually plays? Well it obviously depends on fitness and the other players around them. Charlie for skill....and Hutton for speed and a fighting edge! If this is the toughest call that 'Arry has to face this season, then we should do alright!

It depends on how the team is set up really. They both have the ability to start, it's just who else is playing where, and in what formation.

Charlie is a very clever, tidy player who rarely gives the ball away and distributes it well. He is also one of the calmest players I've seen under pressure. He lacks a bit of acceleration, but for me he takes the RB spot over Hutton.

To me a defender seeming nonchalant is a good thing. This means they are keeping themselves in good position. Usually, the extraordinary plays from defenders come as they are trying to cover for a previous mistake.

I love Hutton, don't get me wrong. I love his toughness. However, Corluka gets the ball and immediately finds Modric and boom we're on a counter attack. Now that I'm writing this out, I feel like although Corluka seems to make it work better, I WANT it to be Hutton. He's more of a typical Tottenham man, the first post was right on... Corluka's nonchalant-ness is worrisome, and worse it's a little boring. Love them both I guess.

Went with Charlie as I like him coming forward and supplying the ball into the middle. A really cool player. Never worry when he goes in for a tackle.
I would really like to see Hutton do well at the Lane but I'm not sure if there are some skellitons in the cupboard related to the long time he was out with injuries.

That's what I have always told kids that played for me. Your post reminded me of watching Franco Baresi play for Italy and Milan in the 80s and early 90s. The guy never seemed to break out of an easy trot, precisely because he was such a great defender and read the game so well. And, just as important, he played with other great backs that worked together well as a unit.

Charlie does seem to have that classy air about him that many great defenders have. But that type of game seems more suited to a CB than a wing back IMO.
