Did anyone else see in the first half when ronaldo got taken down by Woody, ronaldo then talked to Webb and looked like he was going to cry and then Webb gave Woody a yellow card! It really was 12 v 11 on the pitch.
i did not get the chance to see the game until this morning and was totally gutted by the scoreline !!! old trafford is a difficult enough place to play without the referee playing against you as well . no way was that a penalty .
"The great fallacy is that the game is first and foremost about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom."
-Danny Blanchflower
the ref was disgraceful without a doubt but as soon as we conceded the pen we crumbled....it was like the spurs of old with no nerve to hold out! we wil never be a top four team till we grow some balls and learn how to dig in and hold on!
Oh - you want me to watch my mouth, how?
Take my fcukin eyeballs out, and turn em around?
there is no doubt in my mind that the referee ripped the heart out of us yesterday with the penalty decesion ,which frankly was a joke, and he also showed lack of guts aswell in not booking paul scholes when it was still 1-2 for 2 or 3 bad tackles in quick succsesion ,man utd didnt look like scoring untill they got that penalty, but what happened yesterday at old trafford is history now , and in the prem league now anything can happen ,take the liverpool and scum match the other evening as an example the way that game went with liverpool scoring with the last kick of the game or us equalising earlier on in the season at the scum you just never know what way games gonna end up.
there are issues about how we seemed to throw the towel in after utd equalised ,i know the boys were gutted because of the stupid and embarassing refereeing decisions but the heads went down a bit and you cant afford to let teams like utd get under your skin like that, but i think and i hope we can put this match down as a learning experience and if we find ourselves in the same situation again we will rise above it. there were certainally positives in yesterdays game for us especially our 1st half performance.
Thfc4life.
Yeah we all know its a definite no penalty ..but the lads should of stood up & played stronger coz of that decision & not let it eat into their heads thus then crumbling.
But when going to ole trafford you know that your never gonna get a fair ref ..just like when mendes scored from half way line & the officials cost us three points which would of got us champions league football a few years back.
The penalty was the changing point & was the spark that they needed ,we would definitely gone on & won the game if it was not for that disgraceful decision.
But remember we played some of the worlds best players off the park in the first half on their own turf ..i am looking forward to next seasons campaign & us adding to squad after getting rid of the dead wood.
Good Afternoon, while I believe it was not a Penalty, they
do not count as Five Goals! The Ref had a tough day, if
he'd have seen more we would probably have been down
to ten men early on, the replay of Willy's challenge is not
good viewing. Have to agree with Harry, after the pen we
seemed to sulk. Although the Penalty was a turning point,
we could still have got something from the game. In the
first half as soon as we scored the second we went deep.
Just wish we could have carried on playing our game, because
in the first half hour we were by far the better team...
WBA at The Lane next week, and hopefully a few goals (for us!).
I left you guys the entire game plan to beat united. Go read it and compare it to how the game panned out....I scripted it almost verbatim! Anyhoo....tottenham needs work especially in the area of fitness and some real basics at this level which they are sorely lacking...better luck next time lads!
BTW...that rubbish is not a penalty because the player was clearly not in control of the ball when the challenge is made....whether the goal keeper touched him or the ball first is irrelevant because the ball had already skipped ahead of Carrick and thus any challenge wud be deemed 50/50.....so give him an Oscar for acting but not a penalty!![]()
Stuipd ref
and now they have been declared champions..............
