I have said things both for and against Bent , earlier in the season he appeared lazy so who wouldn't get the needle . He took a shot at goal ( Blackburn ) when the goalkeeper was drawn so he should have squared it = we had 2 players closing in on goal . I have said he should get one more season but he should have come off the pitch for Zokora , i have no doubt we would have won that game , we wasn't down to 10 men we were down to 9 cos Bent was not in the game .

Okay lets sum this up what made us lose the game:

1. Not scoring the chances we had
2. Referee for sending off palacios
3. Not taking off a striker after the sending off from palacios to replace him with another midfielder
3. Really crappy defending from woodgate on first blackburn goal
4. Really shocking goalkeeping from gomes at the second blackburn goal he seems to do great saves but still he lacks penalty spot control as we could see.

I agree with all the above points except the last. Gomes was going near post to cover the cross, as was Ledders. Samba clearly pushed King out the way & across gomes line of sight. King blocked Gomes vision & there was no way he could then react quick enough afterward. If you watch Gomes he is blatantly upset about something that happened in front of him & I would say it was for a foul on King. Problem is, those sorts of fouls just aren't even contemplated in the Prem. Had it been on the continent it mauy have been different. I really did not see it as Gomes' fault, altho he could've done better


In regards to Bent, People keep saying "He's our top scorer". Well, in our last 10 games he's started 6 of them & played more than half-an-hour in the 3 he was substitute in & he has only scored ONCE!!

Good Evening, I think with us beating Chelsea it would have been
difficult to drop Bent, as him and Robbie have been OK together.
I always mention him being top scorer as most want him sold. If
Harry doesn't think he is in good enough form then he should be
dropped. Gomes never fills me with any confidence at all, and as
I have said many times I think Harry will buy a number one keeper
in the summer...
Was good to hear from Saturday that Robbo still has good banter
with the Tottenham fans...

Its tough on Bent when people slate him after one defeat, I know he hasn't scored much lately but when other players are in the same boat people are not nearly so quick to complain.

I don't slate Bent after one defeat, I slate him all the time because he is completely useless. He never creates anything, can't control the ball, can't go past people, rarely tracks back, etc, etc, The only goals he does score are the ones my granny could score - and she's been dead for years! Come to think of it, she could probably still score some of the ones he misses.
Bent is useless and the sooner he is out of WHL the happier I'll be.

If only we had JD? I think we'd have destroyed em in the first half - but how many times have we took our foot off the gas at the end of games this season? We should have shut shop after the sending off but instead allowed them acres of room.

Shame that Gomes' brilliant save that gave away the corner has gone unrecognised!!

The Spammers will be a tough one now!

I posted in another thread about bent that he hasnt won us many points this season.

He has won us 6 from what I can remember.

His goals have come in defeats and have been of little consiquece on the most part.

If you do a search you will find it, but I cant be ar5ed!!!

Lets let this thread settle back onto the subject matter please and if you wanna opena "slate Barren Dent" thread do a search first as there is plenty of them on here!!!
