I am of the same ilk as The hud and I dont hae to tackle many players more than once before they think twice about going in for the next 50-50.

If he sorted his fitness or showd us that he had the commitment and the engine for the big stage he would be an awesome DM. He could protect the defence by cruching attacking players with his considerable frame and spray balls all over the park from a deep position.

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SEE THIS???

I say send him to a lower league club for a season where he will have to run hard and tackle harder to get through the 90 minutes. It would bring his game on strides and make him or break him. If it makes him he would be worth so so so so much money it would eclipse the Diara fee easily.
yeah that is a good point but it would be better to keep him for the future and win things with him, i hope he reads this as if he steps his game up he could easily do the above mentioned and more

I rate him. Hope we hold on to him. He is at the very least good cover at centre-half, holding mid or central mid; and at his best, a bona fide starter.

he's probably gone this summer. I see him as sort of the opposite kind of player from those who think he'd do well on the continent- I actually think he'd fit in with an English team maybe a little more direct than Harry envisions us being.

He's exceptional at picking out strikers from deep lying positions, but as others have said, he lacks the workrate for spurs style of play. If he could find a team that focuses on long balls out of the back, he'd be right at home. Good player, bad fit for us at this point in his career.

If this guy starts pulling around his weight (quite an extraordinary achievement if he does) and makes more of an effort, he can become even better than someone like Xabi Alonso is for the bindippers at the moment. He just looks disintereseted...that's his problem this season really.

hahaha-I remember someone calling him the blob earlier this season. I just wish he'd throw all that mass into his tackles- just not a good fit for us, IMO
