For what ever reason, I don't feel that he had a fair crack of the whip. I believe that he is a much better player than Berbatov and a passion second maybe only to Keane. Keane wanted away whilst Defoe was pushed out.
He always plays with his heart on his sleeve wherever he is and he wore the Spurs shirt with pride. His goal scoring record speaks for itself. The injury can be overcome.

We need to sign another striker the correct way, if it is Cambell then great if not we have to look elsewhere. Can anyone else remember the last time we took someone on loan because I can't?
The great Mido came to us on a 18 month loan deal not to long ago.
Campbell is going back up north, but I think it will be at the end of the season. The fella has clearly stated that he loves Man U they are his team and he wants to make it in their first team. He has shown flashes of class in his limited apperances for us and will only get better.
The old piss head is not going to sign tevez for the £30 that has been asked because he is just not worth it. He will use and abuse him till the summer send him on his way and call Fraizer back home.
It's that nob Comolli's fault anyway, he only had about three months to sign a couple of strikers and he failed, boy did he fail.

Thanks Littleharry I forgot about Mido. Still think it's not something we should be looking at and as I said it only came about because of the incompetence of Comolli and Levy.
Would love to see Jermaine at Spurs, that's Defoe not Pennant!

While I generally agree with the sentiments in this thread, I still don't really like the idea of the kid being recalled as early as January. We stitched ourselves up over the summer in my opinion and, whether or not it suits Manure in the long-term, the longer we can keep Campbell for, in the position we're in, will benefit us immensely.

The boy is in superb form & is knocking in goals. He is young & full of energy & has already struck up a partnership with our other strikers. Anyone coming in in January is going to have to settle & get used to playing with either Bent/Pav also. It'll be like taking 2 steps back on our part, even if we manage to sign a world-class name in his place.

Also, their are few quality strikers that won't be cup-tied for UEFA & that will pose a problem if Campbell does indeed leave as Bent will be the only one left available for Europe.

We signed Frazier on a season long loan as part of the Berbatov deal. Fergie has no massive need for him at the moment anyway, what with Tevez, Rooney, Berbatov & Ronaldo all playing & other youngsters like Danny Wellbeck coming thru. He ought to honour the initial agreement but I suspect he is just trying to make us sweat a little after last summer's sl*gging match. He knows that the suggestion will put us under increased pressure whether he genuinely intends to recall Frazier or not.

I hope he doesn't. I don't really care right now that Frazier's experiences here will eventually benefit United in a year or 2. Right now he's knocking them in for Spurs & there's no guarantees that whoever comes in the next window, no matter how good or exciting they might be, will do the same.

Campbell is fine as a backup, and if the Scott doesnt recall him in January, the need to sign a striker in January will be lessened. This will be a good thing, since buying in January is always sticky business.

That being said I really hope 'arry brings Defoe back (check the username). He is a legend, and would link up well with the other strikers.

Why he was ever sold in the first place (and for peanuts, as I recall it) is beyond me... But then so has most of the transfers been over the last few seasons.

Firstly loans do work and can be suceesfuil - Mido as stated and what about Klinsmann?

I like the kid, but at the end of the day he's a stop gap. Whether he will stay or not is upto the powers that be. We need another striker - but what about looking to promote someone from our youth team? I'd prefer to give someone a try rather than pay £15m on someone who's over-priced. I think the first choice team will be modric and bent, so really 2 main strikers and a 3rd youth striker would be fine. The reason we lost defoe in the first place is because we had too many top quality strikers. Also I don't really rate him myself - he's ok but not worth getting back - onwards and upwards.
