Still don't know what you all see in Bentley. For me he has not got the pace or skill to consistently get around defenders and his crosses remain distinctly average for someone who cost a ridiculous £15 million. Just an over-rated squad player who has an inflated view of himself. And before anyone raises the wondergoal, do me a favour.Every player gets a fluke now and again.Class is about consistency.Something he is yet to achieve.Players like him and Jenas are the reason we will never challenge for CL.Sad but true.
"The great fallacy is that the game is first and foremost about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom."
-Danny Blanchflower
My view on Bentley are exactly that, the bloke is great with out sounding like i love him lol , i think he will be a spurs great and follow in the likes of Gazza but better, he's die hard spurs fan , proper lad with a sence of humour, above all that he's got the skill to take spurs to dizzy hieghts, he's another player like Berba where he could be havin an absolutely terrible game then his play , cross or shot will change the game.
Oh yeah and he was born in Peterbrough which is about 30 mins away from me lol
yeah............. i like that comparison I never thought of that one he could go on to be the next waddle he has the potential thats for sure...
Cooooooome ooooooooon uuuuuuu spuuuuuuuurz

I still don't. Don't get me wrong. If he sorts out his delivery - which is what we bought him for - and he is getting there (I have slated him enough times already this season for how poor his delivery's been), he will be getting up there. However, Waddle could beat players, not necessarily with pace, but with a jink here and there. I don't see that in Bentley. Give him the ball with a little time on the right and he'll swing that cross in for you. May only be a split second, may be his first touch, but he can do it.
Waddle though..... Well, that's a totally different ball game. Leaving aside the footballing aspect, Waddle was never as arrogant as Bentley appears to be. I say 'appears'. Haven't seen him over the period of time I did with Waddle.
Besides which, growing up watching Spurs, Chrissy Waddle was my boyhood hero. Ain't nobody gonna match him!
