What a load of bo*****s. Keane would have gone to any one of the big 4 (ok maybe not the scum! uke if they came calling. The 'boyhood dream' rubbish was just an easy smokescreen. Can anyone honestly say before Liverpool started sniffing around that they knew Keane had a soft spot for them? I certainly didn't. Like others have said I wouldn't boo him because as you say, he gave his all for Spurs. But after leaving the way he did, showing absolutely zero loyalty he does not deserve any applause.

As for Carrick I agree he is a class act. But of course he should have been sold. He wanted to leave and we got a good price for him. Would you have preffered us to hang on to him for the remainder of his contract and get F.A. instead of £18 million?

actually yea i did know he had a soft spot for liverpool! in fact he felt the same for them as we feel for spurs! read his autobiography u will see he was a massive liverpool and celtic fan from a young boy and in particular a massive dalglish fan! as for carrick wat was the difference in the way he went from the way keane went? carrick left us in the lurch as soon as man u came sniffing and we have never replaced him since!

You can't treat him differently to Berbatov. He just waited till a bigger club came in instead of searching out a bigger club. He still went when he could have stayed.

We sell Defoe then our two main strikers dump us. Why would you applaud that? Keane would have gone to loads of clubs. Real Madrid? Barcelona? Do you think he would have turned them down for us? Money money money.

In one respect you're absolutely right. We've never replaced him. In another, I think not. Carrick's departure owed as much to Levy's stubborn, pig-headed, idiotic negotiating stance when the topic of a new contract came around.

Carrick left primarily - and this is my own humble opinion - because Levy thought he was a **** hot negotiator and laughed Carrick's new contract demands (read much higher wages) out of the room. Now, plenty of people could label me as far from a **** hot negotiator, but I know what gets put on the table starts the negotiation, it doesn't end it.

Since then, our esteemed chairman has proved amply that he has no clue whatsoever when it comes to negotiation in football.

Anyway, this isn't meant to be a "Slate Levy" thread. You can probably see I don't like the fella.

As far as Keane goes - polite applause from me. That's about it. He doesn't hold the same place in my heart as the likes of Waddle and Ginola, for example.

i agree with wat ur saying in a way mate but in my opinion carrick left for more money and champions league football! its been our problem for far too long now that we're stuck in the dark ages wen it comes to wages! the big clubs can and will pay wat a player wants even some lesser clubs will pay silly money but we have to settle for the left overs who will settle for basic wages!

We can definitely treat him differently to Berbatoss. After all Robbie worked hard for Spurs for over six years. The vulgar bulgar played one great season, mooched around during the transfer window, sulked all through pre season in South Africa, refused to warm up at Newcastle, got BMJ sacked, sulked and threw his toys out of the pram for a whole season and then to add to it refused to play during this pre season and the start of the pre season. NO, I think you will find he will definitely be treated differently. No respect for Spurs and the fans and none for himself - he should be ashamed. Hope he crashes and burns at the Mancs!

All part of his plan to get sacked with a 15 million handshake I suspect.
