Ramos' subs were very Martin Jol-like: take off a midfielder/forward and replace with a defender to defend a lead. We usually ended up conceding like that under Jol.

Yeah, that is all that matter right now. Lord knows we need some sodding luck.
It's also rather annoying that Gomez can play a blinder but still make howlers.

We weren't conned with it, just Ramos won't play him in his proper position. Give him a free role behind the strikers and you will see why we paid what we did for him. Also remember this was his first game back from injury.Originally Posted by spurs09

Yep Gomes saved us. we look absolutely terrible. It definitely wasn't a turning point. I'm worried about the match on Sunday.
Wasnt very inspiring, only saw last 30 mins at work but looked a shambles for the last 20 mins - having missed two sitters before their goal it was bound to be so.
Didnt really understand the substitutions, just played into Wislas hands telling em we were shutting-up shop - dont see why the original 11 couldnt finish the game ??

poor but job done!
What matters is that we got through, the team knows as much as any of us that th form they're in won't be good enough, hopfully we'll see a spark next time
