If Spurs are to survive, with regards to contending with the top 4, then they must get themselves in to CL footy. While i'm not really keen on the CL to be honest, the big players are. The players who want to play CL footy always go to the 4 clubs that are pretty reliable for getting into CL.
Spurs would benefit a great deal if we can make it to the Champions League footy.
I have high hopes for Spurs this season. Anything's better than their poor performance last year.
With all the new signings, and the outstanding performance of Bent, i think we've definitely got a very good chance of finishing in the top 3 or 4 this season.
To finish first is asking too much this year, i think. But my prediction is we'll finish 3rd. And i'll be happy with that

you dont necessarily need to be off to a flying start i mean **** United were 12th after 3-4 weeks last year and what happened at the end of the season......EXACTLY....not one thing like a flying start will be as important then the little things you cant even predict that will happen during the season, and that my boys is the reason footie is as special as it is, your there infront of your tv or live grasping for every moment that can put your team into glory.........im watching the Ole testimonial match right now......great game, espanyol isn't treating it like a friendly by any means, 3 yellows already and some wild wild tackles on nani and tevez. 0-0 at half time, cant wait to see my favorite player in his last game, even if its only for 20 minutes.

I think that the key to our season and finishing in the top four is good health and also being consistent and not dropping games that we shouldn't to finish in the top four we don't have to beat them head to head (but I thin we will sometimes) we just have to beat the other teams in the league

Maybe now this, whos tapping who will just stop.....cause plain and simple they all do it once in a while if not every time.
We never 'tapped' Ramos. We had a chat with him that got thrown around the press. We never made any public statements about how much we wanted him. Anyway, who cares about La Liga. It only matters if it's Prem, init!

Its an entirely fair point. Anybody who thinks we didn't 'tap up' Ramos is kidding themselves. As stated by the op, it goes on everywhere in football, all of the time, and its simply unimaginable that any club will have a completely clear record on this front.

As for Sevilla's issue with the situation now, it appears that its more between them and Ramos since they are both suing each other!

thank you funster thank you.....tapping up is not limited to just public voicing of interest, public conversations is still a show of interest in my opinion as you must have consent by the team to talk to someone including the coach. The only reason Del Nido came out was his obvious frustration that Levy was being very hypocritical which just cause Seville didn't pursue charging them is the same reason most dont, its futile and at the most teams will get a slap on the wrist. Fergie has always voiced his opinion that he though Berbatov was a great player (since we were after him same time you guys got him) that knowledge has always been well known and nothing that has actually came out of his mouth has stated they were after him. He clearly made a statement we made a bid for someone, a fanzine for man u filled in the blanks, which was a mistake and THESUN ran with it......then LEVY runs with thesuns' article which if you read THESUN fairly runs away from the truth about as much as MARCA does in spain and thats bad. Its all over now, there is an investigation which will probably turn out to nothing, berba will leave or stay go to man u or barca or maybe not.......its all out of our hands and really in only one persons. Berbs himself.

We are kinda off topic now, lets bring it back.....im sure this has been beat to death, i know there is a guy on the manu websites forum thats a spurs fan and hes a disgrace, ive heard more unselfish oppinion here in 3 posts from spurs fan then in all 500+ of his. Its going to be Man U for the 3 peat, and im hoping Tottenham in Champs league next year.

Used to be another United fan on here now and then. Adam something. God, can't believe I can't remember his name and also can't find it in the members list! Oops.

Anyway, talked sense also. I think there is a healthy respect between most Spurs and United fans - leaving aside the slight gripes now and then - because of the footballing ethos the clubs have.

You're right though, we're getting OT so I shall stop now!

Now i quite like your lot and dont mind you winning year on year untill its our turn to replace you's!!!

But on your point you didnt have your board talking to another gaffer behind the current ones back, you didnt loose your first 4 games and our fans I would imagine are a great deal more demanding than yours as we prety much of recent years had won f*ck all and was expected to get in the CL last term.

There is no way you can compare your mediocre start to our hidious one!!!

It will be a different story this season so watch ya backs as Rambo it hunting you lot down!!!

really wasnt comparing, im just stating, teams with talent ie us you chelsea aresenal liverfu$#s even everton maybe thats a long shot, could take the league even with a rough start. To say United fans are not as demanding is kinda harsh, as we expect nothing less then trophy after trophy. I see it as Tottenham are happy as a fat kid in a candy store for getting to any final and pushing the big four, its a slow transition cant expect Ramos to win so quickly, hes definitely making huge strides and its definitely a work in progress 150% in the right direction.

and i found this on the Man U forum on the official site, blew my mind i guess there is some respect between the two clubs i overlooked over the last hummmm 23 years of my life as a fan lol

Watching the preason matches against norwich, leyton and celtic has shown me how different and better spurs will play this season. Instead of losing the ball and being constantly on the defence after we scored one goal we are keeping possesion, making solid passes, long passing to our strikers accurately and just all round playing more excitingly.

I still do think we should get another good centre back and a very intelligent striker but apart from that im satisfied by the players that Ramos has brought in. Come on you Spurs!

There really is. My missus is a Utd fan (She's from Stockport, so its allowed). She occasionally points out stuff on Red Cafe. I don't know if its because you like us purely because you are then Arsenholes or what. It is nice to see though.

yeah i saw that also preston, that was a bit of getting ahead of himself im sure, but why not really......any day any pitch anyone can beat anyone.....its all about luck and a bit of skill to back it up. Within the next year or so me and my friend are planning on coming over to the home of footie for a few games. Hes a Chelsea fan, so we will be trying to see a Chelsea home game, and then pick up a United home game while we are at it...Its going to be hard, but id like to come when one of us are playing Tottenham...that way i can check off a few things i want to do in this lifetime lol.....
