We aren't getting artificial turf, nothing is likely to change about the stadium and I doubt we'll ever host a concert, maybe capacity increases but that was possible without AEG. Why would any artist worth having skip over all the venues better suited for a concert (one owned by AEG) to have concert in Tottenham. Unless it's Adele.... Also the football season isn't an ideal time to have a concert at an open air stadium. If it did happen it would probably be in the summer.

Levys made mistakes no doubt but he is the single best thing to happen to this football club over the last 10yrs. Over all he has done a fantastic job. We were light years away from top four when he took over. As for spending money on transfers in the last two years, I'm sure if Harry had renewed his contract along time ago then plenty of money would of been spent.

i think its quite interesting, we are challenging up at the top 4 now with a good team, but have problems with wages and money, yes we dont want to spend millions and millions and run up a massive debt, but we can get a few extra quality players and have a steady ship with funds, stadium might be built quicker, partneship with AEG, build the stadium with extra quality, and sooner with the money we would have, also have connections with la galaxy, and i think we should keep our partneship with san jose too, i dont know if MLS allow you to have a partneship with two clubs but i believe it would be good.

if it went to a spurs fan vote, i would definatly say yes, get harry and daniel to stay, and it will be quality

Isn't there a rule which prevents a person from owning two clubs? I'm fairly sure something popped up a couple of years ago when Chelsea had to play CSKA in the Champions League. Or is it just a UEFA rule, and since Anschultz owns LA Galaxy, a non-UEFA team, it would be ok for him to own Spurs as well?

It's just a UEFA rule, ENIC had the same problem as they had a majority shareholding in Slavia Prague as well as a minority holding in a couple of smaller clubs. As far as I know they've disinvested from these because of UEFA rules. Obviously the individual national associations normally have rules as well but it's not a FIFA ruling as we're unlikely to ever play a competitive game against LA Galaxy or whoever.

dont know how i feel about the possibility of us becoming the new city. well with levy in charge we still wont make rash and stupid decisions (lescott for 22 million)
i thought we were doing okay as it is and we actually planning on spending this summer. in all i really hope we get vertonghen, adebayor, another strker and maybe hazard this summer. dont care if its because of this buyout, just hope that we dont go spending 300 million in a season and a half.

Tottenham close to £450m takeover by US tycoon Philip Anschutz according to report - News - MirrorFootball.co.uk

Tottenham are close to being sold in a £450million takeover, according to a report.

The story says Philip Anschutz, owner of American entertainment giants AEG and the 34th richest man in the USA with a £4.4 billion fortune, has been in talks with Spurs' current majority owner, Joe Lewis, for weeks.

A deal is not far away, continues the report, which claims Anschutz - who already owns David Beckham's Major League soccer side LA Galaxy - would keep current Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in place to run the club.

AEG owns London's O2 Arena and the MEN Arena in Manchester.

I talked to my buddy who works AEG a couple weeks ago and he didn't say anything about Spurs but to be fair he wouldn't unless I asked, and I still doubt he say anything. I think he likes his job, lol. We did discuss some things we both have going on in Asia, I'm being sent out that way for a bit next month. It wouldn't surprise me if a sponsor was an Asian company.

If this does happen I'm interested to see if Phil would bring on any partners. Depending on how the Dodgers sale pans out there may be a few available, Patrick Soon-Shiong comes to mind, they're pretty close and he's a quality dude, I'm not sure he's a footy fan though.

Also when the new Premiership rights come up for bidding things can get interesting. Everyone expects NBC/Comcast to bid for American broadcasting rights and he's a major shareholder. I hope NBC win those rights and other leagues as well because Fox is terrible.
fox is horrible, horrible pundits( warren barton is ok) they let piers fookin morgan on, when they showed the two united games on regular national fox rhey gave it an american football feel and even used that horrible music they always play.
any other network would be great but lets not forget that fox has its own soccer channel, highly unlikely

Better keep DL in place or we'll be doing more banners - to get rid of him would be just plain stupid.

      From Redcafe :

Philip Anschutz's company AEG owns my local Swedish team, he bought Hammarby extremely cheap just so he could make use of the new arena that is being built for tax money and use it for concerts etc. He has so far not spent a dollar on improving the team that got relegated to the second division under AEG's ownership but they don't care about that, they are even considering letting Hammarby's rivals play on the new arena to make more money...

Anschutz and his company AEG are leeches just like Silent Stan Kroenke and some other American sports team owners investing in Europe. He will make a splash sometimes to get good PR but Anschutz only really cares about making money so I doubt Spurs would be better off with him as owner. I think he is interested in Spurs because they want a new stadium and he sees a money making opportunity.

Surely, we wouldn't become the new city though would we, i mean AEG is a buisness, just like ENIC, granted they will offer us more money for transfers and wages but they wouldn't be city levels of money available, as they will seek to only invest wisely on players they seek to get a return on. Also with Levy in charge I think even if we did get taken over by a Sheikh he still wouldn't wanna spend too much knowing him. I think this sounds like a good deal, and like you say if we can get Hazard, keep ADE, Modric, Bale etc then we WILL be even greater Title challengers next season.
