Was wondering myself what had happened to Ledley after the Arsenal game. At least we have Woodgate as cover, but I expect that once Ledley's 100% fit, we'll have Woody and King as the 2 first choice centre backs?
Good Morning, There have been lots of stories around
the net last couple of days about Ledley being close
to retirement through injury. The Club have kept very
quiet lately. I was wondering what people here believe
the extent of his injuries are?

I believe the rumours to be true, and that Ledley will play the rest of this season,and (at most) next season.
Sad, but i think it is true.
I first these rumours months ago on another forum from a poster who's info was superb(not just on king, but on transfers,bust ups etc)
So i really do believe someone who had the potential to be one of our all time great Captains will be forced to retire

Looking back it doesnt seem like such a crap idea to get Wes Brown now does it? I know he isnt the be all and end all of centre backs, but he is extreemly versatile, experienced, and available to an extent.
He could have done a job anywhere across the back line for us and a decent job at that.
I hope its not true, but it doesnt look good when he is only brought out for cameo apearances now and then. If it is bone on bone now, he does well to walk around at all and you are looking at 5-10 years till needing a replacement plastic knee.
Such a shame, but we need a young prince to be ready to take the kings throne.
And i dont mean KPB.......... I wouldnt let him clean Ledders boots!!!
I'm not sure if he is finished. Remember 1991 when Gazza was pretty much used only in FA cup as he had a groin niggle and the cup was so important. Think that may be the case with Ledley for this season with the Carling Cup. Get that under our belts and Europe next season and he may start seeing more action ready for next season.
