Ok i get what your saying about us becoming unnattractive by playing 4-5-1 but i really dont know what you base this presumption on?

Show me a top European team that plays 4-5-1 and is boring or slow or too defensive.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manure, Chavs and Bayern Munich to name a few all play with a 4-5-1 formation and they have all made the CL final within the last 10 years.

4-4-2 is too stiff and wooden, we need to move with the times and perhaps at least entertain the idea that 4-5-1 may be benificial during certain games either at home or away. I agree that 4-4-2 is the way in which Spurs are used to playing and it has served us well so far, but come on guys, embrace the european style of play, after all we dont want to be known as the Bolton of the CL do we?

Thing is with Kaboul is that he is a very good footballer that can do a bit of defending . . . . but at centre back the fact that he is prone to a slight lack of concentration and can make a mistake or two meant that the team was punished, as you would expect in the top league.

At right back I feel that, although mistakes can be costly, they are not as microscoped as mistakes at centre back and it suits him more. He has also shown he can do a bit goiing forward . . . . so to say he isn't a right back is silly. He was signed as a centre back, but proved that he is more capable at right back.

      excellent post

its very simple. Kaboul is no CB. He is a excellent rotation player for Corluka in what will be exhausting next season.

we have played with 5 in midfield before?! it does not have to be a negative formation?!?!

as for Kaboul RB i dont agree, but respect your opinion, i dont think he is naturally a wide player but hey i guess he could learn it if we really had no other options, personally i would rather get a proper one. If Hutton is not allowed a chance to prove himself (like Bale and Pav) and the 2 shef boys are still not good enough i suggest selling the lot and getting in proper RB who is ready to play there ...
