How good is our squad

Yep great post!

Im so happy we have a great sqaud but its still not that big. The qaulity is there for everyone to see but the only problem Arry has is keeping them all happy!

OK theres been alot of injuries and i like you am not to worried because they are proving what great players they are.

But would we have seen Bale maybe become player of the season or Bently start to prove people wrong if we didnt have all these injuries?

The Sqaud is amazing just think how good its going to be when we make CL next season!!!!!

I agree in one hand ross but in the other you have to say that all of the above had proved time and time again that they were not good enough or couldnt produce good enough football to warrent a place.

Now they have upped their game and pulled up trees all the hype is back and the bad games have been erased from our memories.

They are cracking now but havent always been that way for us.

I am over the moon obviously but as quick as they have sorted their shit out it could all come crashing down again.

And equally why the fook didnt they do it from the off and peform like this from day one?

I would say our squad is good with the potential to be great. The only reason I am holding back now is our current injury situation and we need another CM even when we are healthy and a more proven backup keeper.

The test of any squad is when you have a number of key players out injured and how the rest can cope in their absence.
To be fair we have had more than our fair share of injuries this season,and tbh we dont need any more, but so far we have dealt with these problems well in the main,something we must take credit for.

However I just worry that we able to continue like this much longer when you consider the games coming up in the run - in to end of the season
We have to continue to win our home games and pick up as many points away from home to stand any chance of the top four finish, stating the obvious I know but its a fact.
Today we seemed rather ineffective down the right due to to Krancjar not hugging the by-line at any stage which restricted our options somewhat, so hopefully either Bentley or even better Lennon can be fit soon to rectify that and restore the balance.
If we lose Willy thats also a problem because he is the only ball winner in the team, so we need Hudd back asap to fill the gap, and it goes on............

For me one of the most important players of whom we cant afford to lose is Pav, his goals are keeping us on track atm and he could be vital in the coming weeks in determining how we finish the season.

Whilst I too have noticed Lennon's absence less thanks to the form of Bentley & then Bale, I have to say that it is just a shame we cannot enjoy them playing like this all on the same pitch together!

Altho I would say that our injuries are probably the exact reason our squad players are now doing so well, I just wish they weren't out for as long as they are. We are always going to pick up injuries but we have been stricken with SO many long term injuries it isn't fair!

I can only imagine how good we would be if Lennon had come back in & we had him flying down the right & Bale down the left - frightening. And, as good as Daws & Bassong have been together, if we had had our CB combo that got so many clean sheets at the end of last season on the pitch with Bale & Lennon, Palacios breaking up play & Hudd controlling the tempo with any mixture of Modric & Kranjcar bringing the creativity & stil having the likes of Bentley waiting in the wings, I really think we would have 4th nailed.

Sadly, we aren't able to fully enjoy the riches we have. Having said that, it really makes me look forward to next season & you ca deffo see us as a different proposition nowadays & we are constantly improving in the right areas - improving enough to perhaps again become the force we once were

We can't afford to 'give the players on the bench some time on the pitch' We are playing as a team and need to have the best 11 on the pitch. Yes there could be another Bale sitting in the wings, waiting for his chance but this is not the time to experiment whilst pushing for CL and a FA Cup Final.
