Yes
No
Yes I will. I do this because Pav is a good player. It's rather very boring watching long balls being hoofed up to Crouch.
I agree this is a good tactic sometimes when things are not going our way and we have a chance to score using Crouch.
But seriously EVERY GAME ... doing the same over & over & over again is just a waste of time and energy. It does not always work. There is only a slim chance Crouch's head will be able to knock the ball past the keeper. All the other times it will go wide.
It has become so predictable a lower league opposition (Leeds) did not bother marking Crouch after a while as he posed little or no threat. They realised it, the fans realised it... but obviously the manager didn't.
For Tottenham, though, this was a welcome three points - only their second of 2010 - and they had Pavlyuchenko's cameo to thank for settling the match after a series a missed opportunities earlier in the encounter.
It will be interesting now to see whether Harry Redknapp gives the Russian a run in the side in place of Peter Crouch, who is without a goal in seven matches - but either way he has the affection of the Spurs fans as they cheered his every touch from the terraces.
So to conclude:
I am not the only one saying Pav has been treated unfairly.
I am not the only one who says Pav should be included in the team over Crouch.
I am not the only one who questions Harry's tactics.
I am not the only one who says Harry is wrong.
The Newspapers and radio commentators and football pundits are saying why not Pav.. why crouch?
Every day I read in the papers "long ball" this and "long ball" that.
You just don't like that someone is saying something that is right because you know it but don't want to admit it.![]()

I cant say I like that poo icon directed at me mate lol.
Admit what? All I am saying is that I could see all this Harry bashing coming a mile off before todays game. I knew even if Harry bought him on and he played a great game, he'd get pelters.
Harry didnt bring him on to give him a chance, he bought him on because we needed to kill the game and he thought that Pav would help us do that. This "in Harry's face!" attitude is silly because Harry will be as happy as anyone that Pav's played a blinder, he just wants Spurs to win games.
I do think Pav's a good player, I dont disagree with that, and the long ball game to Crouch isnt pretty to watch and hasnt been working of late. I'd love Pavlyuchenko up front with Defoe. I was delighted when Pav came in a played like he did. I dont have anything against him atall, I just think taking digs at Harry is wrong.
Pav would have been sold by now if Harry hadnt blocked his transfer. How important could that turn out to be for us?

Has nobody stopped to consider that perhaps the reason why Pav has come on & done so well recently is precisely because of the way Harry has handled the situation?
Nobody was moaning when it was Bentley sitting on the bench & when he came on & started to play well everyone praises Harry for getting the most out of him. Why is it any different over Pav?
Obviously Pav needs to take credit for discovering that 'fight' in him, just like Bentley should take credit, but I think Harry is very clever in how he rings that side out in his players. Pav has always been good but he has always looked slack & lazy too & that was his, & Tottenham's, biggest problem. He certainly did not look slack today, & neither did Spurs, so something Harry has done to us is working because I've not seen a performance like that from us in many years.
Nobody seems to take into account Pavlyuchenko's injuries either - its not always because Harry doesn't 'fancy' him.
Crouch has been poor recently, anyone can see that & I'm sure that Harry can too. Thing is Harry won't just drop him & he's right not to. For the 1st part of the season Crouch was actually very good. If Harry just drops a player everytime he has a bad game & chops & changes then it doesn't help the consistency of the team, it doesn't help the player's confidence & it doesn't help anyone get back to form.
Palyuchenko's attitude in the week has been reportedly poor. If he dropped Crouch, who works hard on the week, for Pav too easily then it sends the wrong messages to everyone. He did the same with Robbie earlier in the season - Robbie was playing poorly but he stuck with him at first & Crouch was coming in & doing well.
But Harry won't wait forever. He replaced Robbie with Crouch after a point and he'll do the same again with Pav. Thing is, by keeping Crouch in nobody can say Crouch hasn't had the opportunity and by keeping Pav out he has created a fire in the Russian's belly. Sooner or later Harry will have to play Pav & it will be up to Crouch to win his place back & Pav to keep his, That is exactly how it should be
Croats keeping the peace? What has happened around here? Lol.
Well said, Dinamo. Very diplomatic

i really dont no what to think about harry he has turned us around we was in trouble when he took over but now with the pav situation and some of the other players he has brought into the club like gudjohnsen brought back kaboul and he is not playing them why the last few weeks he has put the same team out and it hasnt worked if we dont get anythink out of this season then we will have to think about harrys position with the club

Bass,
I was about to write a long long long post similar to that...thank you for saving me 10 minutes. You the man....!
<------ Arsene Wenger
I really can't believe some so called supporters are baying for Redknapp's blood. We really are a fickle bunch. Any decent manager needs a period of stability before you can start demanding results. Redknapp is achieving exactly what we are entitled to; pushing the top four and not getting involved in relegation scraps. Once the team is settled and he's had a chance to work it his way, then if results don't follow he can be judged. Fergusson, Wenger etc took a few seasons to settle the team around them. We don't have a right to be winning tropheys just because we're THFC. The gooners must laugh out loud reading some of the self destructive comments on here.

My two pence worth...
What Spurs have lacked for many years, and the main reason why our form in the League has been mediocre at best, is stability at management level.
Just when we seem to have turned the proverbial corner, out goes the old manager to be replaced with someone else who has to start again from square one.
In Harry Redknapp, Spurs have someone who knows the game at Premier League level better than almost anyone else (only SAF and Wenger have managed more PL matches than Harry) and, surprisingly enough, Harry's record with Spurs is better than any other manager we've had since we joined the Football League way back in 1908.
Give the chap some time to establish a dynasty here with Spurs - personally, I'd be happy to see Harry in charge for at least the next five seasons at a bare minimum.
We're in fourth place in the Premier League and still in with a decent shout in the FA Cup.
How many of us would have dared to dream this just a year ago?
