Not true.

The actual bone that has broken heals fully and heals stronger than it ever was before being marginaly denser and heavier (being formed of a greater percentage of compact bone).

The bones around it however will be exactly as they were before the injured bone broke making the comparably weaker and more prone to fracture under the same stresses as the initial injury occoured.

Chech wears it for a good few reasons but the main ones being psychological and advertising.

Every time there is a picture of him taken what does it say smack bang in the middle of his forehead ADDIDASS!!!

He will be paid a fookin fortune to wear that thing for a saturday afternoon for the rest of his career. Clever clever man.

It hurts like hell and there is (for a few weeks) no fookin way youd be able to play. What would you do as soon as you got barged off the ball and was heading fast towards tera-firma...........stick ya hands out to stop ya face chewing dirt!!!

Its OK Robbie and Crouchy will egt the hat-tricks this week.

You never know Pava might get a minute or two.

yea i did and yea it fooking hurt like a son of a *****......and the day i broke it i went to footy training that night and did serious damage to it which resulting in me having to get operated on having to get a bone cut from my hip and screwed into my hand.....this resulted in 4 months of work......is this wat people want for defoe because they think we cant do without him for a week or two?

i say let him recover cause its better to lose him for 2 games than 2 months!

i did it being a gomes.......the ball was hoofed into the air and instead of trying to catch it i tried to give it a right hook instead......bad idea!

i was the goal keeper by the way!

Not how I did mine, it was on a chavs eye socket!!!

Did however tell the doc at A&E that I did it playing footy, when he told me it was called a boxers fracture.......................Oops!!!
