I would preferit if we are pretending to go for Crouch. Sunderland think we're serious for him, and then realise they need to buy a striker pretty quick, so make an improved bid to us for Bent. Once this happens, we will have the money for Huntelaar, and Fulham can buy Crouch.
That wuld be a fairytale ending.
I said Huntelaar above, but Negredo or Tuncay would also be good.
certainly would be a fairytale ending, which is why I can't see it happening sadly.
Sounds like spurs havnt even bid for the big man.
Well, he isn't going to Sunderland, and Pompey have said he's definately going. So looks as though its us or Fulham
First post...I've been reading over the past week or so and feel everyone's pain. I just saw this posted on goal.com in discussion of a potential transfer target, Mouhamadou Dabo:
"BREAKING NEWS FOR ALL SPURS FANS!!!!! My source has just infromed me that Peter Crouch will complete his 12m move in the morning and will make his debut against Barcelona. My source also tells me that another ex pompey star will join by the weekend that being Silvan Distan. "
The good news....we'll know if this is legit tomorrow morning. The bad news....we may get Crouch. If we do, hopefully he can change my mind about him. As for Distan, that just seems completely random.
Crouch is crap. And if the 12m is real.... you pay 5m more and you get Huntelaar or Negredo who are thousands times better that the big one.
Report: Tottenham Hotspur Closing In On Portsmouth's Peter Crouch
After agreeing to his wage demands, the stage looks set for Spurs to snap up the striker...
22 Jul 2009 01:28:39
Peter Crouch, the Portsmouth and England star, looks set to move to Tottenham Hotspur, after the club agreed to match his wage demands.
Crouch has always favoured Spurs, his first club, over Sunderland and Fulham, but they were reluctant to match his terms.
However, according to The Independent, the Lilywhites have now agreed to match Sunderland and Fulham's offers, leaving the road clear for Crouch to sign on. The transfer fee is expected to be around £12 million, and the striker will earn around £70,000 per week.
It is believed that the chance to play under Harry Redknapp again was the main motivating factor for Crouch, and this will represent the fourth time the two have worked together.

COME ON YOU SPURS!!!
Well thanks Redknapp, can't wait to see long ball Tottenham next season hoofing it up to the giraffe who can't head the ball. What a load of crap, i'd rather play Darren Bent ffs....

hopefully we can get either Negredo or Huntelaar, however if Crouch comes i wont care, i wont be overjoyed but it will still be a decent/good signing.
Harry poised after Crouch snubs Bruce - mirror.co.uk
Dawson for skipper!
Im also not fussed on the big 1 but whenever he plays more often than not he seems to score, yes he's an ugly looking player but if it means some1 who can hold up the ball & net 15 - 20 prem goals a season cant b too bad.
Did anyone else see Harry's interview on SSN after the Posh game? Hardly sounded as if he was chasing Crouch & yet the media still interpret it as him being our main target.
Here is the interview, along with all the goals from the game. Cracking finish from Pava, btw:

Jan Vertonghen!
Vertonghen is his name!
Spurs will never ever-ever,!
lose again!
COYSAFOYS
I think the media has blown this up and Harry's letting this smokescreen stay so that he can work for the main target with this distracting the media. God knows who this main target is .... Personally im hoping for Pandev or Hunte.
